The Wild Wasteland message still shows up for me if I use this with the trait, is that how it is supposed to work? Also, I really really want to make it explode, maybe I should learn how to mod that in.
I love how this isnt a WW find anymore. I usually always play with WW on, but with Limes Wacky Glasses I can have the best of both worlds. Thank you sweet for the awesome mod.
A lot of us dont play with Wild Wasteland because it ruins the true vanilla balance of the game by allowing the courier to obtain a suave gambler hat within the first few minutes.
The Fallout series always had "Wild Wasteland" type stuff. It used to be called "vanilla". It is part of what made the Fallout series unique. But for some reason in FNV, they took the wacky stuff and made it optional with the WW trait.
Just as a few examples, in Fallout 2, you can encounter, in no particular order: King Arthur's power-armored Knights on a quest for the Holy Grail (Monty Python) A whale carcass that fell from a great height. (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) A police call box. (The Tardis, Doctor Who) A portal to Vault 13 earlier in the Fallout timeline, called the Guardian of Forever (from the Star Trek ToS episode City On the Edge of Forever) The Bridge of Death (Also Monty Python)
I'm not about to use Wild Wasteland the base game stuff is within the tone of classic Fallout but it turns Old World Blues into an absurdist parody of Fallout rather than it's more ridiculous science fiction elements taken to their logical conclusion and don't even get me started on the sort of stuff mod authors put behind it.I like Al ChestBreach but I don't want him busting through my walls like the damn Kool-Aid Man screaming about how the Twinkie filling is actually Soylent Green.
I usually have WW, but the idea that the bomb was locked behind it was totally asinine to me, considering that ostensibly the same thing was in F3 as a focal point.
What's a joke about it? I don't see a reference to it anywhere on the wiki page. Also, yeah, the aliens being swapped for a different unique and some mercenaries was stupid. Somebody already made em both work at the same time, so that saved me some work.
It's self-evident that it's meant to be a joke/wacky because it's conditional upon Wild Wasteland. The wiki isn't omniscient or exhaustive. Don't get me wrong though, this is a nice mod for people who appreciate the option!
most of the game should have been locked behind wacked wastedland because real gamers want grime and grit and seriousness none of that nerd references shit. real fallout is about war and guns not cartoon mischief
Do you even know what " Vanilla " means ? There's always been a "Wild Wasteland" even in Fallout Tactics "says the guy that had the Pip Boy driving a Humvee across the mid west"
You really triggered the "No WW elitist" snobs that seem to think because their game doesn't have references that their some kind of purist alpha FO player lmao. Don't forget these are the same people who are okay with the game devs writing in dark s*** like child "you know what" and slavery but start uproars on twitter for mods following the same themes the "vanilla" game does. Not all responders though, but a couple of them lol.
is this the bomb that is where the super mutant spawn around it? Where you cant detonate it but if you have the science skill can get energy cells out of it?
Yeah, it's just a little txt file that JIP runs as a script when the game runs, that removes the script from the bomb and enables it's ref if it's disabled.

Or pop-culture references.
Or Bethesda's storytelling.
The One itself is a joke, hence why it's "locked".

Most of the fallout fanbase should have been too.
