*** This weapon is slated to be added to my NIF-Bashed Weapons Mega-Pack in the next update ***

DESCRIPTION
Throwable playing cards seemed like a perfect, theme-appropriate fit for New Vegas, but even though skilled card throwers can flick them hard enough to embed into a watermelon, that in and of itself didn't really seem interesting enough. So, taking inspiration from the X-Men comics character Gambit, I decided to make them explosive. Speaking in an exaggerated Cajun accent is optional, mon cheri.

I started with one of the base game Caravan card meshes and played around with the positioning until it looked right in the player's hand. I then rigged it to use the same animation set as the Throwing Knife.

Gameplay-wise, this weapon is a much weaker clone of the Throwing Knife, but explodes on impact. It cannot be modded, but I've added the weapon to all the appropriate form lists, so that all perks and challenges that affect thrown explosives will work as expected.

This mod works by adding a new miscellaneous item to the game - the Deck of Cards. This item can be found randomly in loot containers and vendors' junk. On its own, this item is nothing more than vendor trash, worth ten Caps. But, with the Wild Wasteland trait selected, you can choose the new "Death Dealer's Gambit" perk, which will automatically convert each Deck of Cards into 52 throwable explosive Playing Cards.

LOCATION
The weapon can only be acquired by selecting the new "Death Dealer's Gambit" perk I added, which is unlocked at Level 2 if you have the Wild Wasteland trait. With the perk active, every Deck of Cards in your inventory will be automatically converted into 52 throwable Playing Cards. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the Mod Index of the plugin in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 52 ;Gives 52 Playing Cards

The Mod Index is a two-character hexadecimal code, with a value between 00 and FF, that can be found using a mod manager. It should be listed somewhere beside the name of the plugin. After finding the Mod Index, open the console in game using the tilde (~) key, and type Player.AddItem <FormID> 1

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
