So I'm aware nick did this a while back, I thought id give it a go myself since I got permission for it back in December 2019 but never actually bothered to do it as I forgot about it, but here it is,
main difference between mine and his is that this version is craftable instead of a unique weapon found inside a crate
Absolutely stunning gun, relatively well balanced for how it's aquired, just overtuned enough that's I want to use it, but reasonable enough that it doesn't invalidate alternatives or trivialize the game. My only issue with the mod, and issue is a strong word, is that I can't both have the long-barrel look of the silencer, and the satisfaction of a boomstick that goes boom at the same time... or at least that was a concern until I opened the filewith the sounds for the gun, copied the unsilenced version, deleted the silenced version, and named the copy the same as the silenced version. I wasn't expecting it to work, but it does! Sorry about fiddling with your work, but I need my fix of loud noises.
My mucking about aside, this mod is absolutely amazing, hats of to you for doing this. Thanks <3
DUDE THIS THING IS GORGEOUS! Loving this deadly lil' devil! Only thing I wish it had was a long barrel modification if its possible just for aesthetic, that would complete it for me along with the long stock. Anyway beautiful shotgun! Endorsed! :)
This is a swell piece, whether in coachgun configuration or as a long arm. I did make two small but significant changes to it via FNVEdit, though:
-I switched the stock's effect from increasing the weapons condition to instead increase its ammunition capacity, based on the idea that with the long stock and either the compensator or suppressor on it, it's got a "long tubes" look that should enable six shots rather than only two.
-I unchecked the "Player Only" flag so that companions can use it. Hope Lies, in particular, states that the best weapon a player can put in her hands is a shotgun (of course, I haven't checked her Perception stat to see if this is actually true or not, but in gameplay her Guns skill is obviously quite high, so giving her a copy of the Widow is purely for story reasons). And since I go heavy on stealth, a shotgun with a suppressor is a must. This is the one; just need to uncheck that flag so she can use it.
I also have a (semi-related) request; there's one shotgun I would love to see added to FNV, and although the Widow is very similar, it's not quite the one I'd most love to see: The Mossberg Shockwave. Would love to see somebody do one, particularly in Flat Dark Earth livery with a breach compensator and a reflex optic.
OP, can you change weapon's price to prevent money making schemes?
Currently, after lengthy battle with low level hostiles we can have quite a few nearly-ruined caravan shotguns. Use this crafting recipe, we can make a bunch of 80% The Widow shotgun, very nice price. Estimate 100-200% increase in value.
Even the limited number of ingredients wont help because you can always use half of shotguns to make stuffs, and the other half as parts to repair the 80% up a bit. The increased value is much better than sell them as parts.
Set it as equal value to caravan shotguns should limit this tactic quite a bit, yet still provide enough incentives to keep making new Widows.
can understand you wanting to try making this but cant understand why you didnt include the stats for it aka dam/ dps/ ammo type/ skill req seams every person that puts a mod on nexus forgets to include these things or do you just asume that we will use the mod without wanting basic info?

Although Black Widow sounds catchier than just The Widow
