to all those who actually read this and are considering this guys mods they are great and light weight. I just accidentally installed 7 at one time in vortex and i started my game. no crash everything loaded fine and the animations appear to be working. great developer and shout out to this guy. hope to see these mods in the must haves such as viva new vegas lists.
I thought this comment was so nice that I just instantly locked it and put in on sticky XD. but holy moly I read this a lot, its such a lovely comment :D.
I agree entirely, his work always is top notch. Plus does this the right way instead of handling it via scripts.
Though I would recommend he'd name any updates to the uploaded archives a bit better, i.e. mod managers thinks they're all different mods (not an update or new version), so you have to compare and check yourself. You also have to visit nexus and search to even know there is change.
Hey! I absolutely love your work. Had a quick question though; for mods that fix various meshes like Collision Meshes and New Vegas Mesh Improvement Mod, should this be loaded before or after those mods? I don't know if this would alter the changes made by those mods and reverse some of the improvements. Thanks!
Only my Awnings model has inherited augmentations by that project . Using other mod developers models even on open permissions comes with additional layers of consideration, so I usually like to keep my projects "in house". I tried to communicate with one of the NVMIM developers recently and they didn't get back to me which is another reason to not continue to use that projects assets.
so in summary no, but I will put more effort into optimizing models that I work on in the future.
so if you are using anything of mine that is abysmal in comparison you can tell me about it and I will look into updating them.
Great mod, adds some life to a lifeless wasteland, though I think the slower speed version is responsible for causing a massive lag spikes in Camp Searchlight.
Hey, I know this is an older mod, but I was wondering if you ever planned to update it. This is one of the few animation mods of yours I didn't download. I just feel like this one animates 5 times more than what it should. Your newer animations seem more subtle, and I always found this one immersion breaking and jarring. Not hating, love all of your other mods.
Hey charm, are you asking for new more subtle animations? I did recently update one of the animations to be more subtle. if you are referencing on the the ranches in the video .
Thank you for the response! I feel like the windows move/open a lot more than you would expect. Your mods have a consistent wind velocity I would say(Besides this one).
I think 18 seconds into your demonstration is a good example. The 3 windows move a lot and are very distracting from the subtle foliage movements.
Subtle would be great. Some of your mods have a subtle version and I think this mod would benefit greatly with that option.
Hi Ashens2014, thank you for making this mod, I really like the idea, but I'm not sure if it's working for me. Is there a specific ranch house in which the animation plays?
Edit: Never mind, I had a look on the description page found the video with the house in Goodsprings. And it works great! You may have already thought of this, but would you ever consider animating the lighting of certain buildings at night? E.G a house in Goodsprings at night may have some light being illuminated from different adjacent windows, which would simulate someone at night with a lantern going from room to room. Not sure if this idea is animation, but I think it would fit in with the theme of your project lively.
The same house models are used in prefabs, and they haven't been animated. the prefabs are located in good springs if thats where you checked . the only house that is animated in good springs (I think) is the one to the right of doc Mitchel's as you come out the door. also many of the houses closer to new vegas.
yeah, that could be done with various types of animations methods, its a good idea. this morning I was thinking about animating someone opening and closing a window. never know, this might be something I just do one day. sorry for the late reply, I didn't see the Edit lol
starting to get to a point in my modding when I cant look anywhere in game without seeing an asset I have touched haha. feels good. glad you enjoy them.
I enjoy it, you can be sure of that. I found another candidate. Surely you've seen those hanging creepy dolls... and bodies hanging on two chains (I already mentioned it) - I was in some Raiders' lair, that hanging body really adds to the atmosphere, but if the other two types were animated with some quieter metal sound as well - creepy as hell.
Possibly animating the awning above the food and water vendors RCStand04 and RCStand01 (Sorry if I mentioned this before, but I wanted to say it just in case)
Additionally I was thinking something that is somewhat realistic and could make the place look a bit more lively would be to animate the propellers on the various aircraft such as NVMcomPlane01 and NVMcComPlane04, and possibly have DLC04FighterJet (The plane hanging in the McCarran Airport) to react a bit to the wind.
