Hey everyone, just want to say thanks for the response on my last Animation mod, was really cool to see so many people liking my work :D. Because of the praise I got, I quickly put this mod together for you all!

why are all your animated stuff mods split between like, 15 different pages, and this mod in particular has a bunch of different files for different things? its the only mod i know that does this, im kinda confused

Hey radical, its because they are different mods, When I create new stuff I create a page for it. the files are split into different files in case you already use a tree replacer for those specific trees. however there is also an option to install all of the files in a single download at the bottom.

Hey Ashens! Great work, have you considered making a bundle of all your anims down the line? I'm not really using any replacers atm so a bulk download sounds quite appealing. Maybe have a NMM install option where you can uncheck what you're not going to use? Anyway keep it up and have a great one.

I certainly do 956785412(nice name btw). I am currently working towards my project I have called project Lively which I will hopefully put together when all of the individual assets are done and have their respective pages, it makes the mods easier to find on the nexus index. search palm trees in the search bar, and you will see why lol. I am unfamiliar with NMM, but I will look into and see how it works and potentially implement that. and thanks!!! :D

Hmmmm, any chance you could make a compatibility patch for the two? Would love to see those plants moving, too, if possible. I'd get in contact with the author and see if he'll let you do it. Really magical, whatever you did~

Hey mate. um the thing is a compatibility patch isn't possible. because we are both targeting the same vanilla assets to overwrite - the only way this is possible is if new plants are placed which would require an ESP which is what I am trying to avoid. but if people want me to place these vanilla Animated plants around than I can do so at some point, you know a few at the main locations and what not.

It's more like I'm asking if you can make the plants from that mod animated, like the vanilla ones you made are.

The pansy mesh definitely isn't in WFO and the vanilla joshua trees aren't, either. I'm not sure if it replaces the joshua trees with its own versions though, so maybe I just won't see them.

Well, New Vegas was largely untouched by direct nuclear strikes, thanks to Mr. House's defense systems, and the Dam provides electricity. There are also robots such as Mr. Handies in places like the Repconn Headquarters, or New Vegas Steel, and other areas, that could perform maintenance functions when they aren't lurking around and waiting for the player to invade their demesne.

It isn't completely implausible that they might occasionally assemble a tiny fleet of robots and oil the bearings or clean the motors on a giant, rotating sign in the middle of the night.

Maybe Festus told them to do it.

you have the Lore friendly explanation for why the signs are up, just have to think about why it would be profitable to maintain them for Mr house.

Is there any way to use your mod other then with vanilla landscape and trees?
I'd want at least to enhance them since vanillas are shitty.

Hey world :D, um this mod replaces the vanilla trees, and enhances them with basic animations. are you asking if their is a version which also aesthetically enhances them while retaining the animations. because if so then, then no :(

I certainly hope too when everything is finished. I will combine them into a big project called Project Lively :), if you want you can see all of these as early releases, rather than having everything sitting on my SSD for a few months you can have them all now :D

I have to say, this is an amazing modpack. The Joshua Trees are by far my favorite for how you managed to keep the trunk still while the rest follows the wind accurately.

However, there's one minor thing that I noticed. While the rest of the plants look good with subtle animations, the Evergreens look a bit too stiff in my opinion. I happen to live in an area full of those types of trees, and even the slightest breeze can make those things move. This could also help to differentiate Jacobstown from the New Vegas areas by having a bit more of a lively breeze due to the colder mountain temperatures.

If you'd prefer not to make faster or slower animation options to suit everyone's taste, is there a variable or setting in the NIF that would allow me to change it on my own?

Luckely the leaves are split into their own Triangulation group so they  can be easily targeted by an Animation block controller so they are super easy to Animate. All the trees in these mod packs use the same Animation data surprisingly. are the Evergreens the red cedar ? sorry I am unsure - its really easy to alter animations, so I can 100% do this for you, but can you tell me the specific pack and maybe link a YouTube video with the tempo you want.

They all could honestly do with a bit more movement, but the ones I notice the most are the European Cedar and the Juniper. Here's a video of what I envision an ideal scene would look like since you always see and hear wind gusts in the game weather. https://youtu.be/sLnLKkMHvbE?

      https://depositphotos.com/101183948/stock-video-western-juniper-top-of-tree.html
      https://www.istockphoto.com/video/fluffy-spruce-paws-of-a-blue-fir-swaying-gm1189723731-336957502

Do you know if the animations are Wind setting dependent, or is this tweak going to look the same no matter what the rest of the foliage is doing? (I'm still pretty new to editing weather, so I don't actually know if that setting does anything ATM...)

This mod only implements timed Animations, these trees do not react to weather conditions. if I produce more prominent animations for the leaf's we risk them visibly detaching from the branch - because only the leaves are animated - things like the branches do not follow the leaves . I checked out the video, and creating a scene like that would require new armature trees with weight paint and what not to create mesh deformation. unfortunately. This mod was very easy to make and something like that would take 1000x longer lol.

No, I didn't mean to impose. :D It's totally fine. No need to create an entirely new armature. Is there a way to just boost the speed slightly, instead?

oh no, sorry I was sleepy, I tend to sound grumpy lol. Maybe when I am a little better I will create better Animations, but the thing is, I have only really been modding properly for around 1 month now so I am a bit new and still learning. but its amazing the response these are getting, considering no one knew me and I didnt have a following like the other creators these mods are doing well. so you never know maybe I will create more complex trees and more people requests and follow.

Personally, I'm just happy that you considered my request. I don't have much knowledge on modding Fallout much, myself, so it's awesome that you've taken up these projects and the results are already great.

I will see about changing the speed in the way you explained with NIFScope in my own game and let you know what results I can get with what you've already animated.

What you've already created looks fantastic, and I am excited to see what else you come up with in the future. :)

      Certainly. :)

BTW, I just learned that there might be a flag that allows objects to actually be affected by the wind, but I don't quite know what it is yet. Maybe there's someone on the site with that kind of modding knowledge?

Also if you wanted to make a custom faster animation, I think a frequency value of 2.0 looks good enough for the cedar without making it obvious that the rest of the tree isn't following the branches. The Juniper looks "alright" at any value up to 3, though I would say that it's pushing it at that point.
For some bizarre reason, the Aspen wasn't animating at all for me..

I didn't get a notification for this reply - just saw it now - the aspen trees have only just been added- they are in the new update - I dont think I will create optional files, this mod already has too many downloads. if more people request faster animations I will add them, if they cant do it themselves like you can. I do not know about any flags that could be used that would sink with wind, as far as I am concerned their is no wind in this game, only sounds and animation like mine which attempt to mimic a really physics engine lol.

How much do the animated plants affect performance? Do they also affect distant terrain LOD generation/assets?

the animation is very subtle, and doesn't affects LOD. The mods have been up now for a few days and I have not had any complaints about anything. furthermore I run on an old machine and it runs fine for me. if you experience problems though, report it on here.
