I found something extremely funny. So, in Dead Money, in the are where Dean is supposed to connect the wires, the developers reused the pylon wires as a static assets on the wall. But because this mod animates them, they keep going up and down. https://imgur.com/a/9SYk9vp
I mod, but I'm using the non-wacky version and somehow they still seem a little frantic and wacky. Have most of your mods in my list though. Great work.
if you have seen my most recent mod, then you know these older ones are a bit wacky compared to that. hopefully I will remake all these at some point! <3 thank you!
I'm still quite enjoying this mod both in concept and practice, but I've noticed that a few wires aren't being affected by this mod.
Basically UtilityPoleWInt, UtilityPoleW, and UtilityPoleM all seem to have wires attached to the model which aren't animating (Or they use their own wire model that isn't reacting to your changes)
Hey Gamerpoets ! :D thats awesome, I used your fnv tutorial a little while back to setup FNV, thanks for that :D. will look forward to seeing it, if you do it :D.
its funny you say that because I was looking at them this morning, but at the moment they are not in this mod. the thing with the cables in freeside is that the model has a mount attached to it, so It would move with the wire. I would have to create a new mesh which would be no problem. maybe at some point I will get around to doing it. maybe tonight.
The animation method I have used for my last two mods would not be suitable for this kind of animation, it would be more complicated. I am going to think about doing this, its definitely a cool idea. I will get back to you if I start work on it.
Yeah you could even have tent cables subtly blow too - although probably not as strong as pylons since tents tend to be more firmly rooted with the pegs/tighter - there’s so many tent models in game.
I had another idea for broken glass or loose glass panels blowing back and fourth in their roots if you have building models with single sections of glass mounted lower frame side up , wouldn’t work with glass coming from panel ceilings though as it would naturally drop to the floor out of place and smash
Shutters blowing open/ closed , old windows on trailers blowing open/closed etc
Canyon and cliff pieces having the occasional animation playing every 2 hr ingame time showing tiny tiny bits of rock falling from them now and then , etc
shutters blowing open would be easy to do, but I am pretty sure there are none in game that I could change. if you could name an asset with this I will probably do it.
- can you explain this in more depth I am not sure what you mean - "I had another idea for broken glass or loose glass panels blowing back and fourth in their roots if you have building models with single sections of glass mounted lower frame side up , wouldn’t work with glass coming from panel ceilings though as it would naturally drop to the floor out of place and smash" --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think something like this would not work given how the game handles animation, and the only way I know how to do it would destroy game performance and be unrealistic.
I think farmhouses/some house models have shutters, dead money villas, etc have shutters, maybe jacobstown, camp golf, idk.
As for the windows i meant like, if the glass is fixed to the frame from an angle - if it became loose it would naturally drop to the ground so i was thinking for broken glass that perhaps faces the sky or full window panels that look loose a small detail to have them blow gently backwards and forwards could be a nice touch.
I think I understand. you want animated broken glass windows - its definitely possible. I will looks for some easy assets to animate. maybe one day with these idea I will make an Animated Housing pack
I have been looking around in game and cant find anything, but its a good idea. if you can give me an asset location in game of shutters and windows, I can make this happen!. if not its cool.
simply wonderful! :) subtle but adds so much. went with the faster version since the slower is a tad bit too subtle but still noticable if you look carefully. have an endorsement!
Thanks for the Endorsement it really helps "sway" the algorithm :D. I do a lot of testing at the 188tradingpost and god damn it was unbearable seeing them sitting there all static . if you know of any other small items that could use some subtle animation be sure to tell me :D
