Are they logical? Ehhh not particularly. Are they cool looking? Yes they friggin are.
Edit: Since there seems to be a little confusion. Yes Uncut Wasteland also enables the jets, but that's all it does. What this mod does is make it so you can actually hear them up close, and see them from more than 2 cells away. This mod can be installed, without conflict, over top of Uncut Wasteland.
Added a patch for users of Much Needed LOD (like myself) so the jets don't get added to the static LOD during generation. In a slight ironic twist it was me who requested those files be made back before I fully understood how LOD and imposters worked. Big part of the reason why this mod now exists. Onwards and upwards, and twirling towards a better tomorrow and all that.
Hey zedas! long time! I have a mod called "Global Imposter region", which at the moment works great alongside this as long as your mod overwrites it. but very soon a mod for GIR is being published that will remove this.
Edit - sorry I should have read the permissions correctly - I can upload a version of this mod with an improvement to the imposter region + compatibility aslong as its on Nexus with credit -
second edit - ah no I need permission to use the the ESP
Not sure. I suspect TTW also brings back those cut jets, so there may be conflicts. Load this plugin after TTW's plugins and check out the area to see if it works.
I have Ultimate Invisible Wall Remover and when I got on top of the water jets to have a look at them for the first time - they looked terrible. Was wondering if this changes how the water is displayed or just makes the jets visible from further and from more angles?
EDIT: I'm a complete bimbo. Somehow Strip Lights Region Fix - Distant Water Jets.esp was loading *BEFORE* Strip Lights Region Fix.esp instead of after. I didn't think to check if the dependency for Region Fix was set up correctly and wasted a ton of time. Always check your load order first friends. I've been modding for 10 years and still managed to goof up. Kinda surprised it didn't have a dependency set up in the first place though .-.
Original Comment: "I genuinely do not know how to get this working in my game, I've tried it standalone, I've tried it with uncut wasteland plus patches and strip lights region fix patches, I've ensured I generated my LOD and everything, but for the life of me the only way I get those damn jets (no pun intended) even half working is Uncut Wasteland. If I load Uncut Wasteland, it loads the jets but only up close, and the moment I add this mod with patches even if it's last in the load order, it just makes the jets disappear yet the sound is present. Does anyone have any idea how to get this working? I want to keep Uncut Wasteland for all other content, but the disappearing jets in the distance is super jarring and this is the only mod that alleges to fix it ;=;"
This works just fine, thanks for making this. Weirdly when I use the FPGE patch, the jets disappear but i can still hear the sound of the water jets. Do I have to do something extra to make them play nice together?
finally i found why this mod LOD missing even after generated lod, just incase if someone ask the lod missing, thats mean you have ttw, i dont know how to fix it, the mod lod isnt compatible with TTW
when solving conflicts with other mods that also patch distant water jets; should I have this one overwrite everything? I plan to merge it into a Full all in one FPGE patch.
Uhhh, it would depend what those other mods are doing? This mod is mostly just visual, if another mod does something functional with the jets it might need a custom patch.
pretty much all but one has the same reference for water. something like potomacWATER300009 or some-such. But a few mods have CleanWater referenced instead. One in particular is just a population mod, so idk what it could possibly be doing with that.
