Just a quick note: I have no idea how it affects performance - nothing noticeable (for me, at least). If anything related comes out, I will update this sticky post. Edit: description was updated, I hope it's more clear now. Edit 2: the mod was updated, alongside with slightly different default values in ini, so you might notice more horizontal movement - this it how it was supposed to work. Edit 3: description was updated with details on ini values and what they control. I hope it'll help to configure recoil for your liking. Edit 4: TODOs are profiles for MCM (save\load\get list), code refurbishing (separate scripts for formula and other calculations may even be used for something else, huh) and (possibly) using ammo effects. Edit 5: custom presets that come by default are just examples and may not be well balanced. Also, I've found that different IS animations affect how visual recoil feels. Edit 6: Vortex support removed for the latest version. Sorry for inconvenience, blame Nexusmods' questionable decisions.
Extract it inside the "Data" folder in Steam > steamapps > common > Fallout New Vegas > Data
But seriously dude, download Mod Organizer 2. It looks confusing but it's really simple and easy to use, plus makes organizing your load order much easier.
I think the problem is that this mod only has manual download as an option, so if you were to only use a mod manager you wouldn't know what to do when you need to install manually
wonderful mod, I don't know if it's ''on purpose'' the ''recoil'' of a flamethrower, but the animations were very strange, any tips so I can fix it manually?
Hey sorry if this is an obvious qquestion but how do i install this? im new to modding and it doesn't seem to be a simple drag and drop into mod organiser 2 but im not sure what to change in the data folder to make it work
I haven't used MO2 with New Vegas, but judging from Skyrim it shouldn't be a problem to simply install the mod through MO2. In the end it's just an .esp and a bunch of config files. You'll only need to watch the mod loadorder if you have mods that change Viewmodel recoil. And don't forget to install all required mods!
hey thanks for getting back to me, but maybe i should've been more specific the problem seems to be with how Mod organiser 2 tries to read the file, when i try to install it the same as any other mod it tells me <the content of data does not look valid> .
i remember i got it working when i tried to use it last year but i can't for the life remember what i changed, any clue how to fix this? i also have all the other dependencies installed and working this just seems to be an issue with MO2 trying to install it at all thanks for your time btw.
Edit: hey so i got it working, i had to move all the Files except for profiles into the main data folder, and just leave the profiles folder in the config folder, sorry if this took up some of your time, thanks for making such a great mod!

I wouldn't mind a slight kick but if its recoil will be treated like a gun with bullets or projectiles then its gonna be a little weird.

Can I package this into a Zip and drag drop into a mod manager?
Thanks!
