Description
I was about to go on a hiatus, but I might as well fire this one off.
This is a much needed difficulty patch. It makes it so that enemies will prioritise the player in combat rather than the player's companions. Enemies can still attack companions, but are just more likely to start attacking the player instead.
In the vanilla game, enemies will almost always ignore the player and focus instead on attacking companions, which makes the game woefully easy compared to travelling solo. With two (or more) companions, you can essentially let them do all the work, which means the legendary Courier's role is essentially relegated to walking around, talking with people, and sticking stimpaks in Veronica's rear end occasionally.
Fallout New Vegas heavily encourages the use of companions, but the problem is that they essentially break the game's combat balance. Due to companions' overaggressive nature, they actually 'declare' combat on most enemies before the enemy detects either you or the companion. This is why enemies seem magnetised to companions in combat, and almost always ignore the player entirely.
