damn this actually looks like a lot of fun, a shame I missed it back in the day cause having more ways to interact with the world beyond shooting and looting is really cool. I really hope this idea is polished further some day
I had very high hopes for this mod, and I think it's very close to being awesome. But as many people have pointed out already, having stock prices be affected by Barter doesn't make sense and defeats the purpose of the mod a bit. I also would like to know what specific actions I can take to affect stock prices.
Another thing I think would be very fun is if there were a way to make money if stock prices were to go down, not just up. It would be awesome to "short" the NCR stock, then be able to make money by going on an NCR killing spree.
this is another mod that "works" in theory but dosnt when playing the game the reason for this is because the player can open the console and spawn as much ncr/ legion/ pre-war or caps as they want thus meaning they dont need a mod that "gives" them a supply of caps. if it was something vendors could have in their inventory/ something you find when looting those you kill then it would make sense as it would imply npc's in the game use it
Your comment makes a point that "works" in theory, but in the end it doesn't hold any water. Following your logic, difficulty or game rebalance mods aren't worth it because I could just toggle god mode whenever I wanted to in the console. The developer console gives the player a huge amount of power in the game - but it's not something everyone is going to use on a whim.
If using the console command is your argument against this mod, why play the game at all? I can just type kill or killall whenever an enemy appears. Maybe I'll just coc straight to hoover dam.
I don't know how you feel about it but I really feel like you need to change the shares from MISC items to CURR items so their prices can still change but they aren't affected by Barter. Purchasing a share of Mojave Express for 120 caps then seeing that I could only sell it back for 50 caps gave me immediate horror flashbacks to my experiences with SPY options trading

Have you heard of the New Vegas Trade Center Mod? Its an old mod now being 10 years old. I wondered how this compares to that Mod. I suggested it a sit might give you ideas to add to your mod.
