Question, the mod is definitely working, but my issue is that I changed the sex of the character from male to female halfway through and i've noticed now that the voice files aren't working. Tested this on a character that I've started as a female with no changes and it works fine there. Any thoughts on how I can go about fixing this issue?
Yeah, I already know that. It's Yuri Lowenthal of Naruto fame (the voice of Sasuke Uchiha) who does the voice of the Male Courier and some of the other male NPCs in this game. Too bad his voiceset sucks when given the role of portraying the melee power attack grunts and hurt reactions of the Male Courier because he just sounds too wimpy for someone who eventually becomes a badass legendary killing machine in the game. Gruffer, more masculine voice actors like Travis Willingham, Troy Baker, or Matthew Mercer would have been more appropriate fits for the role of the Male Courier because either one of their voices would definitely make the Male Courier sound more legitimately badass compared to Yuri's wimpy, emasculate voicework, whom the latter really ruins the effect of the badassery surrounding the Male Courier. I've heard Yuri's voice many times in other games and anime, and most of the time, his relatively gimpy voice rarely works on most male characters he's ever portrayed. I don't care how prolific Yuri is in the video game and anime industry, he isn't that great of a voice actor. Sorry.
He voiced Haseo in the .hack GU, who is the main character. His voice fits him because Haseo is a 17 year old, and his personality (and very frequent yelling) fits him, and the setting of the game. For the Courier it would make sense they offered a choice of voices based on age, like in dark souls with the young/mature/old voices. Odd that they didnt add that feature in the base game. And yes, Yuri's voice acting is good but his voice fits a very specific profile of character, and he voices more video game characters than anime or other media, so his voice feels natural to hear in video games. Also, his voice is very easy to identify, which gives his voice identity. but meh, his voice is everywhere is games so yeah, makes sense for young courier not so much for old courier. thanks to you and the community the game gets better so thanks again.
Hi! Firstly thank you to Radioactivehead and the voiceactors involved for this mod. But how do I actually install this? I have ModOrganizer2 at the moment and not sure what to do with the files. Thanks in advance for answering a probably really newbie question.
Nevermind, I figured it out. Thanks to skullilluminati on a Reddit thread on "How to create a sound mod?". Basically, extract the voice you downloaded, then copy Data to your Fallout New Vegas installation folder (where FalloutNV.exe is located). It should ask whether you want to merge the two Data folders - press Yes. If you're installing a different voice, do the same steps. It should ask whether you want to overwrite existing files - press Yes, too.
Loving it so far! Now to see if I can't just extract the Fallout 3 protagonist voice from my Fallout 3 install...
Is it possible to make a BURN compatibility patch? BURN has added scream sounds for when the courier is on fire, but they only use vanilla voices. Chris's voice sounds so much better than vanilla courier, pwease can you make a patch? :)

Your game is gumming up the quest that handles the Player Character voice somehow.
I wouldn't know why the sexchange command or the HRT mod would do this though.
