It may look cooler except the central badge is wrongly set (it should be to the side, over his left eye). And you will know lore-wise it's not right as Royez was never in Ist Recon, let alone a sniper, but instead headed an elite heavy troopers unit (which would never be in recon).
1: the picture I posted isn't a screenshot from the game. I just took an image of Royez, and an image of the First Recon Beret, and overlapped them in MS Paint. I'm going to add an in-game screenshot soon.

You're just making up lore. Where is stated that he was in charge of a heavy trooper unit? Where is it stated that hew as never in 1st Recon or a sniper? There is no lore to the character at all. Only thing that's known about him is that he's a colonel.
