Just realized one weird thing. I've always noticed the Service rifle a charging handle on the bolt—but if the charging handle is reciprocating, why have a forward assist if you can basically just bash the charging handle?
Can we just say how painful it would be to bash that charging handle, ive handled firearms that have had jams that didnt want to go all the way in and smacking a pistol slide with my right hand to fix the inability to go into battery, my hand didnt feel to painful but it was something i definitely wouldnt want to resort to, especially with a charging handle at the angle of that of the service rifle, It be fine with maybe an AK bolt as its sticking out A TON rather than a small knob INSIDE a slit.
Very cool! Reminds me of an XM177E1 but with wooden furniture. Any chance you'll compile your NCR weapons into a single mod once you've reached a suitable number of them? Just wondering so I don't install all of them individually only for a pack to come along later.
I'll be frank. I am not a big fan of weapon mods (ones to add new ones) as they are so often horrendously overpowered. And I seldom will try ones unless the description includes DAM/DPS stats (hint, hint!). That said, the weapon shots look as if you have created a very good looking mod. But I do have a question for you, if I may. What sort of mods visual/character/texture mods are you using in the screen shot? It looks fanfuckingtastic!
Visual wise, it's just New Vegas Reloaded https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65525 With this preset https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/66650
As for my character. I just used FCO with a custom texture I made, not sure if I'll release it yet, maybe some time
As far as balancing goes. It's actually quite balanced, I play with these mods myself and I don't like making things too easy. Its stats are based on an assault carbine but understandably lower to make up for how comparably easy it is to get earlier on. Assault Carbine is roughly 156dps, while this is around 110 dps. Higher individual shot damage of 15 compared to the Assault Carbine's 13. And the Service Carbine has a slightly lower magazine.
Something I didn't even mention in the description is that the Service Carbine can accept the Assault Carbine's Extended magazine mod.
Thanks! Appreciate the reply, and all the info! Sounds like a balanced weapon that I might give a shot. Unfortunately, I've had terrible luck with FCO. But I do have a new, and much better gaming computer now, so I might have to give it another twirl, cuz your screen shots look GREAT!
Maybe at some point when I've made a couple more. Not promising anything but I wanna make some other NCR(and maybe legion) themed weapons. Thanks for the compliment though! I really appreciate it
