About this mod

A simple mod that reduces your maximum action points depending on your thirst, hunger, and tiredness while playing on hardcore mode.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
This mod reduces your maximum action points based on your thirst, hunger and tiredness levels while playing on hardcore mode so as to make those survival metrics feel more important. It's modeled after Fallout 4's survival mode, although the exact values likely differ.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE DOWNLOADING ANY OF THESE FILES.

Your max AP is reduced by 10% when you reach the first level of hunger or dehydration, with an additional 5% reduction for every additional stage of hunger and dehydration you accumulate. Whereas the first level of sleep deprivation reduces your max AP by 20%, with an additional 10% reduction for each higher stage. This means if you reach the critical fourth stage with each metric, you'll have no action points until you improve your condition.

Currently there are five versions of this mod for different configurations of the game. Please read carefully and download the one applicable to your needs and mod set-up.

APDB4HC - Base version. Fairly uncomplicated with just one script and one quest. Won't recognize temporary increases to your max AP such as by Jet or clothing like Armor of the 87th Tribe. SHOULD run without New Vegas Script Extender but if it doesn't download NVSE.

APDB4HC (JSawyer) - Same as the base version but the values are changed to match those in the JSawyer mod. Doesn't actually interact with other mods so you can use it with the original JSawyer Mod or the Ultimate version. Also doesn't track temporary increases to your max AP either.

APDB4HC+JIP - A version using JIP LN that should automatically track for any permanent or temporary changes to your max action points. Ideal version if you already have JIP LN installed since it has no additional dependencies and should be compatible with most mods. However, I've got little experience using JIP so make a back-up save before using it. This is currently the marked main file for Vortex users as it likely the most compatible with other mods provided you have JIP LN.

APDB4HC+JIP+JSawyer - Exactly the same as the JIP version but using the JSawyer metrics. A good fit for JSawyer Ultimate Edition since it already uses JIP LN, however it's not dependent on that mod and can be used with any version of the JSawyer Mod.

APDB4HC+YUP - An older version that can account for temporary increases to AP in the base game and DLC but requires the Yukichigai Unofficial Patch and New Vegas Script Extender. This version makes changes to Jet and Rocket and will conflict with other mods that make changes to them. Use only if the JIP versions aren't working for you.

I've done only minimal testing so it's HIGHLY recommended you make a save before installing it. The base versions are pretty uncomplicated so HOPEFULLY it wouldn't cause any problems but the YUP versions are a bit more complex so there might be some issues and I'm not use to scripting things with JIP LN. Play it safe, make a safety save before installing, and If something does go wrong just post about it and I'll see if I can fix it.

This mod will also conflict with any other mod attempting to change your maximum action points, including the Radiation (is) Actually Dangerous mod I've made fixes for if you're using its hardcore variants (if you're not, it should be fine). Also, temporary increases in your max AP will not be reflected in your interface. This is an issue with the base game, where using Jet at full AP can result in you having 110/95 AP. When the YUP and JIP versions are working correctly, it should be accurately counting and adjusting your max AP relative to what it actually is (and if it's not, then I messed something up).

Special thanks to Demorome for suggesting using the "getpermav" command and JIP's "getactorvaluemodifier" command that enabled me to make more compatible basic versions and (hopefully) functional JIP versions.
