    hi really nice mod!! How can i edit the perception parameters in the mod to have no Wats with perception 0-1-2?

    There's a problem. The mod not just does V.A.T.S. lock when aiming empty, also locks the V.A.T.S. button when I wanna do anything else (like scrolling faster in inventory with my controller).

    Absolutely amazing mod, really nice tweaks<33 - Quick question tho, is it compatible with Fast V.A.T.S. and Kill Camera???

      In case anyone wants similar faster VATS, check out Simple Fast VATS, it simply changes in game settings to speed up the show. ESP-less as well!

    I'm not sure why, but after installing I can't use VATS at all anymore, like if I uninstall VATS works, but with it installed I don't even hear the VATS failed sound and it won't activate even looking directly point blank into a raider's eyes.

      You sure you don't have the lowest PER?
      If you reach it to the lowest possible you can't use VATS at all.

    Theres a problem I found when using a controller: I cannot use RB to quickmap in the pipboy anymore. Since I play with a controller, I wont be using this :(

    With this, I somehow can't use vats when in first person, even when aiming right in front of an NPC with 7 perception. But it works in third person. I'm not sure what's conflicting if anything, I tried it with every plugin but YUP disabled, maybe it's something without a plugin doing it.

      This is strange, maybe you're using some NVSE DLL mods? Have you tried disabling them too?
      You can easily do so by temporary changing file extension from .dll to something else.

      I have Stewie Tweaks, Height Randomizer, Console Paste Support, OneTweak, along with essentials like JIP LN, Johnny Guitar, etc. Nothing that I think should be causing this. I turned off the Height Randomizer dll, it didn't do anything. Weirdly enough, with no plugins but going back to an earlier save vats did start to work again. Then I started adding a few more plugins and it kept working, until it stopped again. Even taking off whatever random plugins seemed to cause it and going back to the setup with plugins that worked before doesn't get it to work again. I'm really stumped.

      Seemingly with any gun, there's no vats failed sound or anything happening, I press V and nothing.

      This is definitely some weird conflict because everything works fine for me and for many other people - you're the first one to report this problem. Besides, this mod is rather simple.
      Try testing it without other mods on a clean test character after game launch by typing "coc goodsprings" in console from the main menu.

    this is a really awesome mod. after playing for several hours, I did find that the pinpoint VATS targeting did become a bit frustrating though. would there be any way in GECK to remove/disable that part of the mod itself, and leave the rest as is? in any case, I've endorsed the mod and think it's a great one.

      This will require modifying and recompiling of a script and probably isn't gonna be just a simple single line edit.
      I was thinking about adding a perk with 7-8 PER & 10-15 lvl requirement that will re-enable auto targeting but haven't got around to implement it yet, don't have much free time lately.

      yeah I kind of suspected as much. no big deal, thanks for the response. the perk does sound like a good idea fwiw

      edit: alternatively, I wonder if simply increasing the targeting aoe a little bit might be a good compromise. because I really do like the idea of the targeting, I just found in practice it was a bit too frustrating and difficult to use.

      There's no AoE, the mod simply checks what your crosshair is pointing on, and if it's the enemy and the distance is sufficient, allows you to enter VATS. Now that I think about it, the edit required to make it ignore crosshair placement may not be that complicated, I'll take a look a bit later, stay tuned.

      Okay, this is a crude edit and I haven't tested it but try to open hzPVOnCDScript from this mod in GECK and comment out (i.e. add ";" at the beginning) lines 23, 25, 26, 59, 60, 61. Then comment out everything after "if iValidDistance" on line 53.
      Then compile the script and save the esp. Since this is an experimental edit I recommend backing up the original file or using GECK Extender and saving this edit as a separate esp file, this can be done by not setting the mod as active in file loading dialog. GECK Extender is required because without it GECK cannot use esp files as masters.
      This should make it so you'll still have dynamic stat/weapon based maximum targeting distance but will no longer be required to aim at the
      enemy to enter VATS.

      alright let me try it out now

      hm well I tried it, but now I don't seem to be able to enter vats at all, whether the reticle is on the target or not. is this how you intended the edited script to look?

      ah, now I see what you mean. it seems to work just fine! vats seems to activate up to around 45 degrees, and the distance is being modified like I'd expect.

      Glad it worked for you, keep an eye on updates for this mod, someday (not very soon) I may add a perk I was talking about before or maybe even a MCM menu.

    I'm surprised something like this hasn't been done before, makes combat a bit more interesting/less exploity when you're not able to just spam the VATS key whenever you see a red mark on your compass
