I have no idea if you still log on to Nexus or anything but I just wanted to say thank you for making this mod. I always wanted to experience New Vegas with a more romantic subplot and you definitely delivered! I appreciate you for taking the time to plot this out and splice the audio files to keep things together.
For anyone who may read this- I have the location of all of Joshua's prayers I found 5 and think that's all there are as well as a warning. OP did a great job with ensuring that you'll stumble upon them naturally but in case you're missing one the list is 1st - in the log that Follows-Chalk tells you about near the start of the DLC 2nd - Fishing lodge 3rd - General store 4th - Zion Valley Welcome Booth 5th - Ranger station but also the ranger substation osprey- maybe a glitch??
Okay now the warning. If you're like me and you explore the entire map you'll stumble upon an auto-doc with a generator to one side and a desk to the other. Repair it/fix it up but don't tell Joshua about it until you get to the last mission and side with him over Daniel. It'll load you somewhere else and Joshua will speak to you about the fight ahead and all; before ending the conversation tell him about the auto-doc. If you don't, Joshua will simply tell you that the time for talk is over. (Note; If you take Joshua to the auto-doc before the final quest he will say the time for talk is over anytime you try talking to him)
"Oh but what about before-" Idk if it's universal but doing it before the final quest made my character spawn into the area to talk to him while standing on his head. I couldn't do anything. To test out to see if it was because I went to the auto-doc before I would load back to before talking to him to go to the auto-doc and sure enough would end up just standing on his head.
To OP again- wonderful work, I adore it and I adore Joshua. You are amazing and wonderful and I owe you my life! But I do have a question to either you, the OP, or to anyone who's reading this and knows the answer- I'm stuck on "wait for Joshua"...What am I waiting for?
bout the waiting joshua, had the same problem. If you already waited for like, days, walk around with Joshua around the doc machine thing to find the trigger of the dialogue, worked for me. hope this helped!
Not to interrupt your love-fest, but you know Joshua is around 50-60 years old right? "Mormons begin Missionary work from 19 to 26, assuming Graham's was of that age range in 2246" -Nukapedia The Legion was formed a year later. I won't judge though, you be you. And while I personally do not plan on using this mod, obviously, a large amount of effort was put in, so good work nonetheless.
nah feel free to interrupt the lovefest you are correct, and given that the events of NV take place in 2281 he would def be older. I didn't really see this as an issue since the Courier's backstory is so ambiguous their age is just unknown (and a weird slider in character creation). but it's safe to assume the player is AT LEAST mid 20's to early 30's at the youngest, oldest i don't really know because they kinda just turn into dough the more you move the slider up. as long as they're both consenting adults i don't seen an issue, live and let live. joshua looks like he could really be any age based on how burned he is.
I don't see any issue with a significant age difference of like 16 -25 years between two consenting adults. Like Pablo Cruise said: "Love will find a way". https://youtu.be/8WVqjbBAdL0
I don't really understand the issue. The courier has no set age. I'm 40 myself these days, and in my head, my courier is always about the same age as me whenever I do a play-through.
Actually I'm curious are mormon priests/preachers allowed to marry? Or are they like other Christian branches where most priests aren't allowed or choose not to marry? Also holy crap Graham is old but damn he's still all kicking ass and good at killing nuh?
yes, actually, mormons in any level of priesthood are allowed to marry, but only if they're straight--same-sex marriages aren't recognized in the temples and their children can't be baptized and blah blah religious homophobia blah blah. I doubt that's something joshua's folks still practice because... the world ended... but if they still have a prophet they believe was called by god, then that guy's word is gonna be the law until he bites it, so it's really up to him. just like today's mormons with how the current "prophet" was the one who decided lgbt+ couples were unholy! fun!
now, how many wives joshua can have would depend on whether or not those guys came from fundamentalist mormons or the more mainstream ones, because the fundies still say it's fine for one guy to have as many wives as he wants while the mainstream mormons say marriage is sacred between one man and one woman.
also, @ op, mormon missionaries can go off starting at age 18, not 19. they lowered that requirement several years ago, iirc.
source: ex-mo here. :P during my first playthrough of HH I was genuinely surprised by how accurate most of this stuff is.
hey, so i'm having some trouble during the "crush the white legs quest?" I'm stuck in the cutscene watching Joshua behind the three white legs/salt-upon-wounds, instead of shooting them though... he's just.... reloading.... over and over again? Has this happened to anyone else? I don't know what's going on lol and I kinda hate it rn. I've tried using commands and resurrecting Joshua which just makes him hold the gun and not shoot, I've typed tdetect more times than I can count, and even tried to move the quest stages along. Nothing seems to be working. Update: nevermind, the issue came from Better Burned man, my bad yall
I think this mod may have caused his Psalm 137 speech about dashing the little ones against the stones to lose audio. Edit: Either this or the companion mod
An all-around fantastic and incredibily well done mod; Zion's Fire adds so much to the DLC"s story and of course to Joshua himself. Oh how I love this romance!
(SPOILER) Joshua's letter at the end was so damn beautiful <3

I don't mind a man in his 50s.

Who cares? It's a video game. The characters aren't real. It literally doesn't matter how old anyone is, because they aren't real.
Update: nevermind, the issue came from Better Burned man, my bad yall

this sounds like it's gonna be either incredibly fucking hilarious or writing to go down in history as the greatest of the great
