   So do they just show up for the rest of my playthrough or is there a way to actually do the quest.

   Ok after playing with this for a few minutes i can already tell this isnt something i want.
   
   This would be a lot better and more fun if the didnt explode into flames upon death, killing random npcs and companions in a cheap way

   Is nothing supposed to happen when I find the dumpster? I see an ominous sight inside the dumpster, but no assassins come after me. Anything that might conflict with this?

      You have to have a unique hat that you find, in the dumpster, in your inventory for the quest to start.
