What is the Mod about?

It is a collection of files that provides:

· New Armors,
· New Weapons,
· New Perks,
· New Game-play Options,
· New Player Housing,
· New Food Items,
· New Chems,
· New Tools,
· New Crafting Options,
· New Companion,
· New Ammunition,
· Bug Fixes, and much, much more.
 

OPTIONS

In addition to the above, this mod mostly adds the following, namely: GAME-PLAY OPTIONS.

The player has the option to expand game-play in several ways:

· Survivalist - Self-sufficient (craft and store everything on the go) without needing any base.
· Super Sneaky Sniper - Infinite stealth and silent kills (Dues-Ex or Hitman).
· Gun-Nut (break down ammo and explosives and craft your own ammunition from scratch).
· High Roller (win big at the casino's and buy everything you need from vendors).
· Alternative Start / Alternative Game Modes (Dust or New California - start with the weapons, armor, tools and companion dog from this mod).

Believe some equipment / armor / weapon / ammunition is too OP or not immersive enough?

Put it back on the rack or box and use whatever suits your game-play requirements.

NEW ARMORS:


T51d Armor


Look :

· The Armor has been re-textured as T51d Winterized with no decals.



Capabilities:

· The armor has a regenerative health effect at a rate of 5 HP per second.
· It has a high Radiation Resistance and boosts the wearer's Strength by +1 & carry weight by +100 pounds .
· The Helmet provides Water Breathing and built-in functional Night Vision (Blue) with a toggle switch (N for on and M for Off).




Black Ranger Armor


Look:

· Re-textured NCR Ranger Elite Riot Armor & Helmet with Black / Grey look highlights and textures.



Capabilities:

· The armor has a regenerative health effect at a rate of 5 HP per second.
· It has a high Radiation Resistance and boosts the wearer's Agility by +1 & carry weight by +100 pounds
· The Helmet provides Water Breathing and built-in functional Night Vision (Red) with a toggle switch (N for on and M for Off).



Nevada Patrol Armor


Look:

· Re-textured NCR Patrol Armor & Ranger Helmet with Black / Grey look highlights and textures and Green Lenses.



Capabilities:

· The armor has a regenerative health effect at a rate of 5 HP per second.
· It has a high Radiation Resistance and boosts the wearer's Agility by +1 & carry weight by +100 pounds
· The Helmet provides Water Breathing and built-in functional Night Vision (Green) with a toggle switch (N for on and M for Off).
 
When wearing any of the above armors, you will not suffer any damage when falling (similar to acrobat leg mod, or when wearing
power armor - as in Fallout 4.)



NEW WEAPONS:

LMG

Look:

· Re-textured Light Machine Gun with enlarged magazine model and scope.



Capabilities:

· The weapon is chambered for .308 caliber ammunition (now with .308 Surplus rounds).
· The weapon has been pre-modded with an enlarged 250 round magazine and scope.
·  It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.

Historical Note: 

Many real life LMG's are chambered for 7.62×51mm NATO Ammunition which is identical to .308 ammunition in size .


AR10 Carbine

Look:

· Re-textured Assault Carbine with c-mag magazine model and scope.



Capabilities:

· The weapon is chambered for .308 caliber ammunition (now with .308 Surplus rounds).
· The weapon has been pre-modded with a 100 round C-Mag magazine and scope.
· It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.
 
Historical Note: 
The Assault Carbine in the game is modeled after the M16 rifle. There is a real life version of the M16 called the ArmaLite AR-10 NATO battle rifle and is chambered for 7.62×51mm, which is identical to .308 ammunition.


44 Magnum Pistol

Look:

· Re-textured.44 Magnum Automatic Pistol with extended magazine model and scope.



Capabilities:

· The weapon is chambered for .44 Magnum ammunition (now with Armor Piecing and Explosive .44 Magnum rounds).
·  The weapon has been pre-modded with an extended magazine and scope.
·  It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.
 
Historical Note: 

The.45 pistol in the game is modded after the Colt 1911 Pistol. There is a real life Colt 1911 Pistol called the Grizzly Win Mag pistol that is chambered for .44 Magnum ammunition.


Raiden Katana

Look:

· Re-textured Katana sword.



Capabilities:

· The blade has a shock electrical effect.
· It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.


Legendary Combat Knife

Look:

· Re-textured Combat knife (new, clean stainless steel look)



Capabilities:

· The blade has a shock electrical effect.
· It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.


CRAFT-ABLE WEAPONS:
 
The following VERY powerful weapons are unique, but are not "found" anywhere in the game - they need to be crafted by you.
You can craft them at the workbench if you have a repair skill of 50.


Say Good Night 10mm SMG (Craft-able)

This is the ultimate sneak weapon. It has reduced spread. Equipped with a scope. It has a 50 round extended magazine. And is completely silent. It has been added to the game's hold-out weapons list.

Crafting Requirements:

· Skill: Repair of 50
· Need: 1 x standard 10mm SMG
· Craft: 3 x mod parts (workbench recipes)

Look:

· Modded 10mm SMG Special



Capabilities:

· The weapon is craftable with an silencer, extended magazine and scope (all craftable).
· It has reduced spread and has been added to the hold-out weapons list (by script).
· It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.
· Ultimate Silent Sneak Weapon.




Gauss Rapid Fire Particle Rifle (Craft-able)

This is the Ultimate Bad Ass Energy Weapon. An automatic energy particle rifle that will disintegrate your enemies. It has a large capacity magazine and uses MC Breeder ammo. It regenerates its own ammo in the magazine.

Crafting Requirements:

· Skill: Repair of 50
· Need: 1 x standard Gauss Rifle (Hint: One can be found at a NCR holding in a highly enlightened position)
· Craft: 3 x mod parts (workbench recipes)

Look:

· Modded Gauss Rifle (Micro Fusion Breeder Cells)



Capabilities:

· The weapon is craftable with particle accelerator, focus optics & auto receiver (all craftable).
· It shoots blue energy bolts on automatic fire (high rate of fire).
· It has a legendary effect of doing 50% additional damage to Abominations.
· It generates its own ammo in the extended magazine.
· It has a high change of disintegrating the enemy (blue disintegration effect).


 
 
New Perks:

The mod introduces  9 awesome new perks all related to the new armor:

TNF Sensors Array Perk - the Helmet will increase your Perception by 2.
TNF Radiation Screen Perk - the Armor increases your Radiation Resistance by 25 points.
TNF Advanced Polymer Plating Perk - the Armor increases your Damage Resistance by 25 points.
TNF Protective Lining Perk - the Armor increases your Fire & Poison Resistances by 25 points.
TNF Internal Database Perk - the Helmet's internal database increase your Intelligence by 2.
TNF Energy Resistance Perk - the Armor increases your Resistance to Energy Weapons by 25 points.
TNF Rad Scrubber Perk - the Armor will constantly decrease your radiation level.
TNF Armor Speed Perk - the Armor, makes you run 25% faster.
TNF Ballistic Lining Perk - the Armor provides 50% reduction to any explosive damage.
K9 Senses Perk - Companion Max will identify and mark all enemies when view through the scope.
  

New Game-play Options

The mod adds so many options to improve your game-play:


Universal Storage Interface

In your the El Rey Motel home, at the foot of your bed, you will find a footlocker with the Universal Storage Interface, that is electronically linked to the storage container in your house. You can now access the unlimited storage unit from anywhere without out having lug the special loot, armors, weapons and unique items you find and wish to keep, all across the wasteland (think of the Sierra Madre Gold Bars).

You can now access the storage from anywhere (even from alternate world-spaces) with the touch of a button "P".  It only works if you have the interface equipped - it plugs into you pip-boy or readius device.

When removed form the storage container, the interface will be placed in the Armor tab of the player's inventory - and must be equipped as an armor piece, or it will not work. Pressing "P" will activate it.

The universal storage interface is a quest item, so no-one can remove it from you (not even Father Elijah). As long as you store your weapons, ammo & gear in the container before-hand, you may take any armor and any weapon into any world-space (Big MT, Dead Money, Dust, New California - you name it). You can also use it to take any weapon into any casino.

The technology is similar to the Big MT Transportalponder - except you transport equipment and not yourself.


Stealth Field Generator


The Stealth Field Generator is found in a small metal briefcase in your El Rey Motel home. It is equipped on your wrist and provides a very powerful stealth field that generates a modulating field that transmits the reflected light from one side of an object to the other, making the bearer almost invisible.

When removed form the storage container, it will be placed in the Armor tab of the player's inventory - an must be equipped as an armor piece or it will not work).

It is similar to a stealth boy, except that it does not have a usage time limit. When equipped by the player, it will activate automatically when the player crouches down (goes into stealth) and switches off again when the player stands up.

It is very useful when conducting stealth infiltration missions, as you do not have to lug several stealth boys around in you inventory. It is also a quest item that cannot be removed, unless it is returned to its storage container in the EL Rey Motel player home.

 
Courier Bedroll

In Doc Mitchell's House, on the foot of your bed, you will find a Courier Bedroll. This rolled up bedroll can be interacted with to be unrolled or placed in your Inventory. When unrolled you have the option to sleep on it or return it to your Inventory. Sleeping on it grants the well rested bonus, since it is a player owned bed. (It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory).

The Courier's Bedroll can also be crafted at the workbench, if somehow you lost / sold yours.

Now, I know that the Lonesome Road also adds a bedroll but using that only opens up a menu, and is not immersive at all. The bedroll added by this mod is the real thing.


Courier Infirmary

The Courier Infirmary is found on your bed in your El Rey Motel Home. It is an optional item that allows the player access to a portable infirmary.

It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory.

When dropped from the inventory it will spawn at the player's feet. Make sure you are on level ground when activating it (or face downhill) else it could spawn under the ground and might be lost that way. The detoxification has been updated to FNV specific chem additions.

It is just like any other personal (my first) infirmary, in that it will restore the player's health, restore damaged limbs, remove radiation and will detoxify the player.

After use, the Courier Infirmary can be returned to the player's inventory.

For balanced game-play purposes it cannot be used when in combat, or when enemies are near.
 
 
Courier Canteen

The Courier Canteen is given to the player when first loading the mod. It can also be crafted using the workbench. It is modeled to look like the one seen on the Black Ranger Armor. (It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory).

The Courier Canteen is useful during Hard Core Mode or survivalist modes as it helps to stave off dehydration and heals a small amount of health. As long as it is the players inventory it will be automatically used every five minutes.

It is very similar to (and based on) the Vault 13 canteen (classic pack pre-order item). It is provided as an optional usage item, and will only work if present in the player's inventory.
 

Courier Dog Whistle

The Courier Dog Whistle given to the player when first loading the mod. (It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory).

The Courier Dog Whistle is used to summon the dog Max, a German Shepherd dog companion, no matter where the player is. It will work in all areas, interior, exterior and all world-spaces.

It is a single use item and will break upon use. Replacement whistles can be crafted using the workbench. 
 

Courier Transportponder

The Courier Transportponder is a device from the Alien Mothership Zeta.

It is similar to the Big MT transportal gun,and is added to the Courier's  inventory when loading the Nevada Files Mod and will always be with the player. (It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory).

The player has previously electronically tagged the most powerful armors & weapons. The device allows the armors and weapons to be transported directly to the player, no matter where they are in the game world.

The TransportPonder is intended to provide the player access to the unique Weapons & Armors of The Nevada Files Mod when using DLC's or Mod's that is located in other world spaces than the Mojave Wasteland / or which do not allow the player access to the Mojave Wasteland locations where the armors and weapons are stored; such as in the case of Old World Blues or Dead Money or alternative start mods (such as Dust, Fallout New California, etc.).

But nothing is preventing the player from using the TransportPonder anywhere/anytime, even when they are in the Mojave Wasteland.

There can however only be one of each type of unique TNF weapon or set of armor, and this device will not duplicate the items.  Any second item are automatically removed.


Armor Repair Kits

The mod also adds Armor Repair kits to the Wasteland. (It can be found in Miscellaneous tab of the player's inventory).

These function exactly like weapon repair kits, but repairs (guess what?) armors, instead of weapons.

These can be crafted at the workbench, sold by merchants, or can be obtained as loot.

All vanilla armors, clothing and head-gear (and the various armors added by this mod) can be repaired with these, using the item repair option, similar to repairing an item with another similar item.
 
These game-play devices opens up new game-play options and give the player game choices. However the choice of use thereof, or not, is left up to the player.
 

New Player Housing

The player is given 3 new player houses to use:


Doc Mitchell's House

The player is welcome to stay with the good ole Doc as long as they want to. There are a number of additions to Doc Mitchell's House that will make it useful as an initial player home and base.

· Player Bed: The bed that the player first wakes up on is now player owned.
· Radio: Mojave Music Radio.
· Crafting Facilities: Extended crafting counter with built in Workbench, Reloading Bench, Infirmary and Laboratory.
· There is a working stove for campfire recipes in the kitchen.
· Storage:  Crafting, chems, armor and clothing storage.
· Ammunition, chems and other starter items.
· Working Weapon & Armor Racks - auto repair functionality.
 
The Nevada Patrol Armor, Legendary Combat Knife and .44 Magnum Pistol is found on display racks in the main hallway. The armor and weapons may be returned to the display racks, which will full restore the items' condition.
 
 
Novac Motel Room

The Novac Motel Room (key obtained from Jeannie May Crawford) has been vastly improved, cleaned up and made livable.There are a number of additions to the motel room that will make it useful as an additional player home and base.

· Player Bed: A modern clean double bed has been added.
· The motel desks are now working storage containers.
· Radio: Mojave Music Radio.
· Crafting Facilities: Extended crafting counter with built in Workbench, Reloading Bench, and Infirmary. There is a working stove for campfire recipes.
· Storage:  Crafting, chems, armor and clothing storage.
· Clean purified water on tap. 
· New clean carpets, curtains, fridge and other "homely" touches.
· Ammunition, chems and other useful items.

The Motel Room now looks modern and clean, and worthy as a player home.
 

El Rey Motel Player House

Room 01 of the El Rey Motel (across McCarran Airport entrance) is the player's main home. This has all the essentials that the player may need and more:

· Player Bed: A modern clean double bed has been added.
· The motel desks are now working storage containers.
· Radio: Mojave Music Radio.
· Crafting Facilities: Extended crafting counter with built in Workbench, Reloading Bench, Laboratory and Infirmary.
· There is also a working stove for campfire recipes.
· Plentiful Storage:  Crafting, chems, ammo, armor and clothing storage.
· Water Purifier: Refill empty bottles.
· Clean purified water on tap. 
· New clean carpets, curtains, mini fridge and other "homely" touches.
· Ammunition, chems and other useful items.
· Working El Rey Motel Casino slot machines (25 000 caps house limit).
· Working Automatic Caps / Chip exchange.
· Working Commissary (auto vendor & repairer with 5000 caps limit).
· Working Weapon & Armor Racks - auto repair functionality.
· Working Barber Mirror - get a haircut.
· Max - the German Shepherd Dog Companion.
· Gambler's Shades (+2 luck).

Check the Mojave Express box outside the motel room entrance for "access".

The T51d Power Armor, Black Ranger Armor, Legendary Katana, LMG and AR10 Carbine can be found on display racks next to the entrance. The armor and weapons may be returned to the display racks, which will full restore the items' condition.
 
 
New Food Items

The mod adds new food items and food recipes to the game. These food items are the Meal Ready To Eat (although similar to the ones from Lonesome Road) these appear in the base game in the leveled items lists as loot in footlockers, food containers and fridges and sold by merchants.

Meal Ready To Eat
can also be crafted by processing other food items into MRE's. Their weight is very low compared to the sustenance value (food value) and are very effective in Hard Core Mode and other 3rd party survival modes.

Protein Food Paste can be consumed directly, but is an ingredient used to create Meals Ready to Eat. It is crafted by processing other food items at working stoves or campfires.

Roasted Ant Meat. You don't need to eat ant meat raw anymore. Roasted Ant Meat can be cooked at the stove or campfire and when consumed are very effective to restore health. The adrenal chemicals found in the meat are also effective to against tiredness.


New Chems

The mod also adds new chems to the game. These chems appear in the leveled items lists as loot in slain enemies inventories, healing and chem containers and sold by merchants. They can also be crafted as campfire recipes at the stove or campfire.

Time To Die - this is a very powerful combat boost that is crafted from Psycho and MedX. It increases damage output by 25%, damage resistance by 25% and critical chance by 10% for 300 seconds.

Caffeine Pills - This is a rather expensive recipe to make, but the chem is very effective against sleep deprivation. It however has a potent side effect which will greatly increase your level of dehydration.


New Tools

You will also find a Courier Multi-Craft Toolkit in Doc Mitchell's House, on the floor next to the crafting counter.

The Courier Multi-Craft Toolkit does several things at once: it is a portable total crafting solution. It is  a workbench, reloading bench, cooking stove (campfire crafting) and water purifier all rolled into one.

The Courier Multi-Craft Toolkit is a inventory item that is dropped on the floor and interacted with manually.

It cannot be used when in combat or when enemies are near.


New Crafting Options

The mod adds over 200 new crafting recipes to the workbench, reloading bench, and the stove (campfire). It also adds several new recipe categories to aid crafting & scrapping.

All junk items in the game now have a use and is used in crafting multiple utility items. All items can be scrapped and used in combination with others to make useful items. This is similar to the crafting in Fallout 4.

Example:

· Coffee cups, drinking glasses, etc can be scrapped to make Ceramics.
· Rad Scorpion tails, mantis eggs, etc can be scrapped to get Acid.
· Cigarette cartons and packs can be scrapped for Plastics.
· Combining Ceramic, Acid and Plastic at the workbench - you can create Wonderglue.
· Combine Wonderglue and Plastic and you can make Duct Tape - which are both used to create Armor and Weapon Repair Kits.
· Hides can be scrapped for leather, which can be use to create medical braces, which is used to create Doctors Bags.

There are dozens and dozens of combinations used to craft new ammunition, explosives, utility items, medical items, food items, even weapons parts and weapons.

Crafting and breakdown of ammunition has been greatly expanded and balanced.
 

New Companion

 
The mod adds a new companion in the form a German Shepherd dog named Max. The dog is a faithful companion that will come running when summoned with a dog whistle to anywhere the player is located in the game.



Max does not use the clunky companion wheel, but uses custom written packages, sounds, textures and custom (robust) AI and command scripts.

Max as dog companion is very loyal, faithful, fierce and versatile companion and a great asset in combat. He cannot be killed (even in hard core mode) but will become unconscious for a time when his health drops to zero.

Max has the Light Step perk (do not set off traps), can be sneaky when you are (put him on passive), and gives the player the K9 Senses Perk when he is following, which will highlight all enemies when viewed through the scope (a great sniper asset). A faithful dog knows how to identify the Master's enemies and all hostiles will be highlighted in red when Max is with you, when viewed through the scope.

Max will follow you to the ends of the earth and nothing can keep him away. He will follow you into the Sierra Madre and the Divide, even if other companions can't do so. And he can be summoned to any world space (just blow the whistle).

Max will also do not count towards standard companion number and you may recruit other companions, in addition to him, without penalty.

Max can be found guarding the El Rey Motel and will return there when dismissed. Max cannot be sent to the Lucky 38.

 
 
New Ammunition

There are several new ammunition types and variations. The mod increases the number of ammunition sold by vendors, as well as the quantity of items used to craft ammunition, such as cases, powder and primers. It introduces new material such as brass to craft cases and explosive compounds to craft explosives and explosive ammunition.

The new ammunition types are:

10mm Ammo: Armor Piercing (craftable and sold by vendors) and Surplus (sold by vendors).

.44 Magnum Ammo: Armor Piercing and Explosive Rounds (craftable and sold by vendors).

.308 Ammo: Surplus (sold by vendors).

Personal Note: I know that normally .308 ammunition is scarce. The mod introduces new automatic weapons using .308 ammo. For this reason I have added .308 Surplus (for the LMG and AR10) and 10mm Surplus (for the Say Good Night 10mm SMG). It can be bought at vendors. Contreras at Camp McCarran supply shack sells them, as well as Gun Runners and your Commissary in the El Rey Motel).
 

Bug Fixes and Improvements

The mod also fixes a number of bugs, and missing items from the game. These include:

- Empty Scotch Bottle - missing texture bug fix.
- El Rey Motel - Neon Lights Fixed (now it looks like the intro video).
- El Rey Motel - Added missing Neon Lights Fixture on east side of the building.
- El Rey Motel - Exterior area cleaned up.
- El Rey Motel - Street Lights and Area Lights fixed.
- McCarran Airport - Neon Lights Fixed.
- .22LR cases fixed - added missing ammo cases in loot items and crafting items / recipes.
- Ultra Luxe - Added working slot machines to the casino.
- Casino's - Increased all casino payouts to 25000 caps before banning.
- Slot Machines - Increased the minimum bets to 250 caps.
- Vendors - Inventory increased: ammunition, ammo crafting items, custom items and greater caps.


Requirements

This mod requires the New Vegas Script Extender (NVSE) to function (http://nvse.silverlock.org/).


Installation

Use a mod manager (NMM, Vortex, etc) to install it or just drop both files in your folder: C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\Common\Fallout New Vegas\Data.


Known Issues

A few users have reported it crashing when entering the El Rey Motel. The mod uses many high performance (4K) textures. Installation of the following stability enhancement mods will definitely help you. Greatly recommended for all modded New Vegas games:
