In addition, the lore mentions that the tribes perceived slavery as normal.
think the real issue is the lack of realism because there's no way a group as brutal as the legion wouldn't eventually put the criers to death. there's a few mods similar where people are making changes they think "make sense" to them but objectively are completely counterlogical. one famous example being high heels in outfit mods sold as "realistic"
