!IMPORTANT! For Those Upgrading From v1.0 or v1.1 !IMPORTANT!
As of v1.2, I've moved the weapon mesh files into their own sub-folder for the sake of neatness and organization. If you are upgrading from an earlier version, you can manually move the meshes yourself. Right now, they should be found in Data/meshes/weapons/1handpistol. Create a new folder and move the meshes to Data/meshes/weapons/1handpistol/PneumaticPistol

DESCRIPTION
This mod adds an air-powered bolt-action pistol to the game that fires drugged darts to impart various effects on enemies. It's basically the Syringer from Fallout 4 but in a pistol form-factor. The weapon can also be modified with a shoulder stock/extended barrel to decrease spread and a .44 Revolver scope to increase zoom.

The ammo can be crafted at any reloading bench using an empty syringe and the corresponding chem(s) for each effect. As of v1.5, there are eleven different ammo types available, separated into three tiers:

TIER ONE (requires Medicine 25)
Berserker - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Psycho] Causes the target to ignore all factions and attack everyone, as well as reducing their Intelligence
Knockout - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Med-X] Causes the target to lose consciousness for a short time, as well as reducing their Perception
Paralysis - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Steady] Causes the target to become paralyzed for a short time, as well as crippling their legs and reducing their Agility
Poison - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Radscorpion Poison Gland] The only outright lethal ammo type. Poisons the target and reduces their Endurance
Irradiate - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Dirty Water] Damages the target's rads and saps their energy (Fatigue damage). If the target is human, there is a 10% chance of feral ghoulification, and if they ghoulify, there is a 10% chance that they will become a Glowing One

TIER TWO (requires Medicine 50)
Panic - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Jet, 1 Stimpak] Causes the target to stop attacking and flee
Blindness - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Cateye, 1 Whiskey] Cripples the target's Perception, lowers their weapon range and critical hit chance, as well as greatly increasing their weapon spread
Overthink - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Mentats and 1 Turbo] Causes the target to pass out from exhaustion, but with a 25% chance of suffering a fatal brain aneurysm
Pacify - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Ant Queen Pheromones, 1 Vodka] Causes the target to stop attacking for 30 seconds

TIER THREE (requires Medicine 75)
Bloat - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Buffout, 1 Hydra, 1 Cazador Poison Gland] Cripples the target's entire body and reduces Strength, with a 35% chance of causing the target's body to swell and expand until it violently explodes
Incubator - [1 Empty Syringe, 1 Buffout, 1 Centaur Blood, 1 Creature Egg (Cazador, Fire Ant, Radscorpion or Deathclaw)] Causes a baby of the corresponding creature type to burst out of the target's chest, with a 10% chance of spawning an adult instead

Empty syringes can be recovered from targets if they are killed.

I made all the custom meshes myself using base game assets and textures. The gun is a Nif-bash of the grip from the Pulse Pistol, the extended magazine tube from the Hunting Shotgun, the receiver, bolt, barrel and silencer from the Ratslayer and the sights from the Silenced .22 Pistol. The modded stock was made from the carbon fiber Sniper Rifle and the scope was lifted directly from the .44 Magnum Revolver, with the mount shortened slightly to fit on the frame.

LOCATION
The weapon can be purchased from the Gun Runners, Mick's secret inventory and occasionally from Mr. Holdout on the Strip. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console command (Substitute ## with the number of the mod in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1;Gives 1 Pneumatic Pistol

player.AddItem ##000AE0 10;Gives 10 Berzerker Darts
player.AddItem ##000DC7 10;Gives 10 Knockout Darts

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.

THE SCIENCE!
For those curious, this section outlines my rationale for choosing which crafting ingredients cause which effects.
Spoiler:
Show
Berserker - Psycho makes you do more damage, so I assume that it works by suppressing your inhibitions and dialing up your aggression. By this logic, applying these effects to an enemy would likely make them just want to fight, regardless of who or what.
Knockout - Med-X is the Fallout universe's version of Morphine, which is named for Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams. In addition to acting as a painkiller, morphine is known for its drowsiness-inducing effects, so it stands to reason that a large dose of it would knock you out pretty quickly.
Paralysis - Steady reduces your weapon spread, so I assume it's some kind of muscle relaxant. A large enough dose of it administered directly to the bloodstream would likely result in you losing control of your muscles.
Poison - This one is pretty self-explanatory, really.
Panic - Jet increases your action points so I assume it works similarly to some kind of synthetic adrenaline. Fear and adrenaline are closely linked, and the physiological signs of one are more or less the same as the other (faster heartbeat, shortness of breath, dilated pupils, etc.) A Stimpak is a stimulant, as the name implies, which would help to enhance the effect of the Jet.
Blindness - Cateye improves your night vision, so I assume it works by dilating your pupils to allow more light to enter. In low light, this is beneficial but if you've ever been to the optometrist and had those drops put in your eyes (you know the ones I mean) and then set foot outside into the sunlight, you'll know that you are effectively blind and can't do much of anything other than covering your eyes. As far as the Whiskey goes, being drunk won't help your fine motor skills any.
Overthink - Mentats increase your intelligence, and I assume it works by causing the neurons in your brain to fire either more rapidly or causing more of them to fire at once. Turbo slows down time, and I assume it works by stimulating your nerves, enhancing your reflexes so that everything appears to be happening slowly. Combining the two effects means that your entire nervous system is all lit up at once, which would likely be mentally and physically exhausting, hence the unconsciousness. However, this would also likely be extremely traumatic for a small subsection of people, whose bodies can't handle the overstimulation, hence the head asplode.
Bloat - Buffout increases strength, so I figure it works by rapidly developing muscle mass. Hydra heals crippled limbs, so I figure it stimulates bone growth. Combine these two effects with a dash of Cazador poison as an inflammation agent and you should get rapid and unchecked growth that mangles the body as the victim struggles. There would also likely be a small chance that the growth would continue until the skin can no longer contain the rapidly-expanding bodymass, resulting in gibbing. Originally, I had this scripted to physically increase the scale of the victim over time, but unfortunately, the KillActor function doesn't fire reliably on any actor whose scale has been altered, so I had to nix that.
Pacify - Ant Queen Pheromones can cause one person to fall in love with another (or at least make them more suggestible). Alcohol, such as Vodka, can also cause "I love you, man!" tendencies. Diluting the pheromones with vodka could conceivably cause a temporary stupor effect where the target feels calm and doesn't want to fight anyone.
Incubator - The Centaur blood would act as a source of food/nourishment as well as a radiation source, while the Buffout would act as a growth accelerator. Combine them together with DNA from the creature egg and a baby creature could conceivably gestate in seconds!
Irradiate - Dirty Water, if injected into the bloodstream, would likely expose the target to dangerous levels of radiation.
