I had too many windows opened and copied bad adress. Sorry for that. This one is correct: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/65417 Explicitly stated on front page.
If you scroll to almost bottom of a page, you find this: "As for non-MCM features, there are a few more: - Wearing a matching PA helmet and suit now provides you with a rebreather effect so you won't suffocate under water. Included is Roy Batty's restoration of the Rebreather sounds?, so you don't need that mod with this one. This also applies to several other full body hazard suits from the game."
Is there a video demonstration of what this does somewhere? Was it something that was in Fallout 3, but was never implemented in Fallout: New Vegas, for whatever reason?
The rebreather sound is in NV and since there was no way to make it work in the base game, they never implemented it. The swimming sounds are in both games, but they were attenuated so low in NV you could not hear them. I did my best to get them to the same volume level as they were in Fallout 3.
Gotcha. That's interesting about the sound already being in the base game. I swear, people find so many cut or unused pieces of content in the game, I'm half expecting somebody to uncover a new game, entirely, at this rate.
The sound fixes for swimming certainly can, but the rebreather sound needs JIP_LN to function properly, so that part can't. You're very welcome, just a little immersion mod I decided to release.
From a quick look at the script, it seems like you haven't accounted for the possibility of the player taking the rebreather off while under water. An in-game check confirms that the sound will continue playing, above and below water, if you take the rebreather off while using it under water.
