This is a great mod for what it is: it's not loud but pretty consistent & aims for "realism". The complete opposite of this is CRL9000; while it's loud, the sounds are high quality and interesting. Just a matter of taste.
All of these sounds have really good quality, especially the reload/foley sounds like the pistol reloads/marksman carbine reloads, but some of the fire sounds are just a tad bit too loud, like the G3 Rifle, Chinese Assault Rifle, and Police Pistol, but running it through something like audacity and lowering the dB by about 3-4 alleviated that. Really good sounds regardless.
EDIT: Also forgot to mention that I'm happy that the sounds don't linger too long, that's usually an issue with a lot of sound packs that causes aggravating looping/overlapping.
If you personally found it to be too loud (I think it's a realistic volume all things considered), rather than running it through Audacity you could've simply opened up FNVEdit and gone to the sound section, and then for the sounds you found to be too loud, set the value "static attenuation cDb" to a higher number. Attenuation means the dampening of the sound, of course.

I combine this with the Hitmarker Sounds mod and it's sooo good.
