I just confirmed that MO and NMM are having difficulty unpacking the rar file for some unknown reason (first time this has ever happened to one of my mods, I have no idea why).
You could either manually install to /data, or if you want to keep your main game installation "clean" you could make a new folder in your mod manager's mods folder called "More Robotic Voice for Victor" and just drag/drop the /sound folder to it.
A bit of an annoyance, but it only takes a minute.
If you unpack the rar file and listen to the clips, you can just delete the ones you don't like. It's a lot of files to go through, but they are kind of chunked together, so you can delete blocks at a time. When you're done, and you just have victor files left over, you can drop the folder into data\sound\voice\falloutnv.esm\robotvictor
Not to "necropost", but what did you do to achieve this effect? I want to use this along with a Victor companion mod that apparently splices together the original audio clips, so I'd like to avoid the jarring differences.
I can't remember the EXACT effects/proportions I used, but a similar effect can be gain just by using a slight down pitching and what's called "Paulstretch" effect (you can mess around with the values there as well). Paulstretch by default stretches out the sound giving a sort of slurred/distorted effect, but if you do it very incrementally it gives a slight tin/distort effect only.
Strange. Just manually drop it into your data folder, I guess. Not sure what to tell you, since it's the same .rar format I've uploaded hundreds of times to Nexus.
If you want to keep your game's /data folder clean, you could alternatively copy the /sound files from here into your mod manager's file structure by creating a new folder for this mod (just make a new folder called "More Robotic Voice for Victor" and drag/drop my /sound folder there. Your new folder should be in the same sub-folder as your other mods).
I've been using this technique a lot the last month or so. It's annoying but it works. It's just frustrating that WinRar has suddenly stopped working after almost a decade with no problems for me. :/
It probably should be. I converted *all* Victor's voice files included in the .bsa, so any content that didn't make the final cut but was still in the archives would have been converted.
