The Flash - The Speed Forces is an overhaul of NewMemeber101's Flash Speedster Abilities (which can be found here), both of which using resources from jops444's The Flash and Reverse Flash -Hero and Villains- Suits (which can be found here). The Flash - The Speed Forces adds onto Flash Speedster Abilities a gradual increase in speed by level, new suits, (at least attempted) balancing, speedster abilities from DC Comics' The Flash and The CW's The Flash, and a few other things.

Note that experimenting with this mod has not been done to its full extent, and so bugs may still exist. Please report any and all bugs you find.

FEATURES

Note that I may have missed a few features; please notify me in the Posts section if I failed to mention something.

  • In NewMemeber101's original mod, the Speed Forces were available in a suitcase in the Goodsprings Abandoned Shack near the Yangtze Memorial. Now, however, the Flash and Reverse-Flash Speed Forces are available as the Traits The Speed Force and Negative Speed Force, respectively, at the beginning of the game. (NOTE: Negative Speed Force takes priority over The Speed Force as a Trait. If you take both perks, The Speed Force will be removed and Negative Speed Force will be taken, instead, and there's probably also a bunch of other bugs that would pop up.)
  • Having the Trait will make Starvation and Dehydration increase at a faster rate in Hardcore Mode, and the effects of food, chems, and alcohol, outside of Starvation, Dehydration, and Sleep, will barely last.
  • Also in the original mod, the two Flash and Reverse-Flash Speed Forces were put in separate mods. Now, the Speed Force and Negative Speed Force are converged in one mod.
  • In the original mod, the Flash and Reverse-Flash suits were also available in a suitcase in the same location. Now, however, suits must be made at a workbench, using two (2) Scrap Metal and three (3) Tanned Gecko Hide. Better and strengthened suits require four (4) Scrap Metal, three (3) Tanned Gecko Hide, and a previous stage suit (i.e., making a Reinforced Flash Suit requires the previous stage Flash Suit).
  • Speed will damage you over time without a proper suit or Power Armor. With a normal connection to either Speed Force, you only need a Flash Suit, Professor Zoom (Reverse-Flash) Suit, Reinforced Suit, or Power Armor. With a strengthened connection to either Speed Force, you need a Reinforced Flash Suit, Reinforced Zoom Suit, or Power Armor.
  • Deactivating your superspeed will damage your health and, in Hardcore Mode, Starvation and Dehydration. How much they're damaged is dependent on how long your speed was activated.
  • Activating your superspeed will slightly boost Unarmed Damage. How much it's boosted is dependent on your speed level.
  • Regardless of whether your speed is activated, your health and limb conditions will recover over time.
  • The Black Flash is an entity in this mod that hunts down speedsters that have angered the Speed Force. If you kill it, the Speed Force makes you the replacement.
  • Using four (4) Scrap Metal, six (6) Scrap Electronics, and ten (10) Small Energy Cells at a workbench, Tachyon Enhancement Units that give a boost to the player's speed can be made. The boost in speed is by a percentage, so the effect is more noticeable at higher levels of speed.
  • With Good Karma, New 52 Bart Allen as Kid Flash appears in the Goodsprings Abandoned Shack near the Yangtze Memorial as a companion. To be honest, I just accidentally added him to the 0.91 update, but since then, Kid Flash has been given voicing, provided by Shadowking548 (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC728ft4WNNRe1BB72vGDiDw).
  • In v0.91 and prior, Karmic Titles of level 20 and above were changed. Good Karma gives the "The Flash" title, Neutral Karma gives the "The Streak" title, and Evil Karma gives the "Zoom" title. This feature, however, was removed in v0.92.

  • Speed increases per level. A strengthened connection to a Speed Force increases speed per level faster. A strengthened connection can be gained by reaching level 30 or by becoming the Black Flash. On the topic of connections speed, here are the following lightning colors that result from certain speed types:
  • Normal Speed Force Connection - Gold Lightning
  • Normal Negative Speed Force Connection - Red Lightning
  • Strengthened Speed Force Connection (and Good Karma) - White Lightning
  • Strengthened Speed Force Connection (and Neutral or Evil Karma) - Light Blue Lightning
  • Strengthened Negative Speed Force Connection - Indigo Lightning
  • Twisted (Black Flash) Speed Force Connection - Red Lightning
  • Kid Flash Only - Yellow Lightning

  • Suits:
  • New 52 Barry Allen Flash Suit (replaces the original Flash Suit)
  • DC Universe Rebirth Barry Allen Negative Flash Suit (Negative Speed Force variant of Flash Suit; no gameplay difference)
  • The CW/Pre-Flashpoint/DC Universe Rebirth Eobard Thawne Professor Zoom Suit
  • New 52 Future Flash Reinforced Suit (Reinforced Suit; recommended for strengthened connections to a Speed Force)
  • DC Universe Rebirth Wally West I Flash Reinforced Suit (Reinforced Suit; recommended for strengthened connections to a Speed Force)
  • New 52 Eobard Thawne Zoom Suit (Reinforced Suit; recommended for strengthened connections to a Speed Force)
  • Black Flash Suit (only available while the player is the Black Flash)
  • Perks:
  • Speedster Constructs allows the player to construct a speedster suit appropriate to their needs (e.g., a Neutral Karma Speed Force speedster with the Speedster Constructs perk will construct a Future Flash Suit). The perk also allows the player to destroy a suit, if they wish to. Construction of a suit is done by using an item named "Construct Suit" under Aid given to you after taking the perk. Using the item will give you the item "Destroy Suit", which, as the name implies, destroys only one copy of each suit you have. It also gives you the Construct Suit item, and so the cycle begins again.
  • Frequency of Air allows the player to turn invisible at will by vibrating so fast that you can't be seen. Using the item is as simple as 'wearing' the item "Frequency of Air" in Apparel. Note that it cannot be used at the same as your superspeed. The effect is similar to that of a Stealth Boy and its maximum duration is dependent on Action Points.
  • A Temporal Duplicate allows the player to create a temporal duplicate or time remnant of his- or herself every twenty-four hours by using the Time Remnant Activator under Aid. Use this ability sparingly, however, as the duplicate may soon go rogue, and it may anger the Speed Force... (NOTE: Since this is the most heavily scripted part of the mod, this perk is extremely experimental. It will most likely not work as it was intended.)
  • Supersonic Punch allows the player to, with credit due to his/her immense speed, perform a punch of immense force every twenty-four hours, also pushing their enemies far back both horizontally and vertically (although the target will not suffer any fall damage).


INSTALLATION

Installation:
  • Drag and drop the files into the Data folder in your Fallout New Vegas folder. You can likely find it at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas.
  • Open up the Fallout: New Vegas launcher.
  • Click on "DATA FILES".
  • Locate "speedster_flash.esp" and tick the box next to it.

FUTURE PLANS
  • The Negative Speed Force will have some upsides as well as downsides to make it different from the Speed Force. An upside would include temporary general speed-stealing, while a downside could include negative Karma changes.
  • Velocity-9 chems could be made at campfires and would last as long as a chem normally would, even on non-speedsters. I've had... some experience in making such speed chems in a different mod.
  • The CW's Zoom lightning and suit. It's not much of a priority right now, however.
  • Kid Flash and Kid Zoom/Inertia companions. Kid Flash would be New 52's Bart Allen, and Kid Zoom/Inertia would be Thaddeus Thawne II. I'm actually about halfway through making Bart Allen (so if you don't like him, you're stuck with him), but Thaddeus Thawne II's story would be hard to do. If anyone has any suggestions on what his story should be, I'd like to hear them.
  • Speedster Constructs will allow the player to construct any suit he/she wishes - not just one that suits their Karma or their needs.
