I'm experiencing the following lightning glitch: When I use the Pip-Boy light near a lit campfire, the floor light start flickening depending on the view angle. Did anyone have this issue? I'm using the mods "Interior Lightning Overhaul", "Fellout", "Electro City" and the "PocoBueno Texture Pack". Is it related to load order maybe?

EDIT: I'm actually having this problem with or without "Burning Campfire REDONE" installed.

This excellent mod is included in Essential Vanilla Enhancements.

This is mainly here for reference for myself, as I replay New Vegas every year or so, and often do new installations.  And for people who don't like to read.  This will message may be helpful for them too.

Not sure if this is a problem for anyone else. But I get this issue where I activate a campfire more than once, then the flames appear more than once. It is like layering more and more flames, instead of already knowing that there is a fire burning already.

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be a check for whether or not the effect is already present. It also results in layering the sound effect, which is pretty annoying and can cause the crackling to persist after the flames go out.

I've made a custom version that fixes this and also adds support for Honest Hearts (specifically, the 'Home on the Range' perk). PM me if you want it. I'm hoping to get in touch with Sagittarius and supply him with the ESP so he can upload it here, too, if he wants.

So, uh, was there any reason in particular you chose to put this on a new page instead of on the original? Because mod guides still link to your broken version, and you left zero mention of the new version on that page. So anyone coming from an outdated modding guide that has that won't know about this one.

    Hello sagittarius22,

The original Burning Campfires mod was included in part of a merged plugin on EssArrBee's Fear & Loathing NV guide. Could this new and improved Redone version be integrated in its stead?

So I took a look at this in FNVEdit and there's a slew of edits to the script CraftingCampfireRecipesScript that Honest Hearts made. This mod doesn't seem to carry over those edits. Were they necessary or no?

This is the only issue that keeps me from installing this. Are those edits necessary or they are implemented already in the new script ?

Would it be safe to make HH a master in fnvedit and just drag the missing stuff into this mod?

@axonis, Why wouldn't it be safe?

I do that all the time with mods, adding masters. Been doing it for years with hundreds of hours and haven't had an obvious problem. The only problems I've ever had was removing masters from mods.

@Jetch3 Its safe, but it won't fix the problem with the script. You'd have to load the mod in the GECK and rewrite the script to fix it.

It's so cool of you to go back and update this mod. It shows how much you care about your work and our experience.

Nice, your original version, tho small, is an absolute standby of mine for any playthrough, and if I had one gripe it was that the fires weren't actual light sources. I wasn't about to complain about something I don't really mind on a mod author's page, but that being said, it's extremely cool that you decided to update it!

Also, I had no idea this was contributing to savegame bloat, so I mean, thanks for patching up that bit, too!

Surprising sometimes how much these little details can make a difference. I found your mod after specifically quitting out of NV and looking for a mod which did just that, because it seemed too weird to me that I wasn't able to light a fire when I used a campfire - to me that would have been an obvious inclusion with the base game. Of course, knowing now that the effect adds to savegame bloat, I can maybe understand why the effect was left out. But hey, that's why modding is awesome.

Basically, thanks for making this, that's all.
