I'm all for DT based items... Roland's revolvers should probably be based on the Hunting Revolver. Now, the specifics on the guns do change from book to book but they are described as comically large and in book 3 he does obtain rifle ammo for them (I think they mention 45... something or other. King doesn't know jack-s#*! about guns).
It's unfortunate there isn't hand-loading animation for them since that's the only way they are ever reloaded in the books.
I seriously considered the Hunting Revolver, but I liked the way the art on the gun looked with this one. I plan on making some more in-depth mods, but I'm still learning. Besides, Susannah trashed the Gun in a different dimension than Roland was in. After she left through the Door Patrick drew. The Gun may have morphed a bit in transition.
Well, in the books Roland's sandalwood-handled revolvers shoot .45 Colt - it comes up in "The Drawing of the Three" when he resupplies in our world - just like the classic Colt "Peacemaker" Single-Action Army. Judging by the descriptions they also look largely like Peacemakers (although apparently significantly larger, for some reason). Keeping that in mind, in terms of visuals and ballistic performance, TECHNICALLY the closest match in FNV would actually be the .357 Magnum revolver. But I agree that a retextured hunting revolver or Ranger Sequoia would FEEL more appropriate.
in The Wind Through the Keyhole, Roland says that the shells his revolvers fire are loaded with 76 grains of gunpowder. as best i can tell, a .50 round uses 80-100 grains. so slightly smaller than that, which still makes them pretty damn big for pistol rounds.
Downloaded the original way back to have a cool Gunslinger revolver and some tasty popkins, was very pleased to see you return to this as I'm a big Dark Tower fan. Reading through Wolves of the Calla right now; anything you can add to this over the years would be great; and thanks for the work you've put in so far! The Fallout games are well suited to a "there are other worlds than these" roleplaying mentality and I'm enjoying playing through New Vegas again as a world-hoping Gunslinger.
I'm glad you are enjoying this. I'm a huge fan too. I plan to get back on this soon and hopefully add some more quests to the mod. Thanks for the support! :)
Finding the door at Bradley's Shack was the end of this part of quest. The notes and holodisks you found explain why, but this will be part of a larger quest line(eventually). I don't get too much time with work and life as well as my lack of experience(but I am learning), but it will come. Basically, since The Gunslinger was the only one able to open the doors in the novels, you are not able to, but there may be other ways. When I am able to get some real work in on the other parts of the quest, the story will unfold more, hopefully even venturing on a trip to Mid-World, but that is a while off. Thank you for trying it, and I apologize for the late response. I'm also going to be better about checking in here.

How nostalgic.
