About this mod

The goal of this mod is to add realistic damage but also to make armor reliable. I made this mod because I was tired of installing mods that just multiplied the damage but leave the armor useless.

  • Fixed Spread for Full-Automatic Weapons
  • Renamed 5mm to 7.62mm
  • Buffed DR penetration for 5.56mm and 7.62mm
  • Buffed Damage of 7.62mm
  • Renamed a few weapons
  • Change the ammo types for the Dragunov Sniper Rifle, Type 93 Assualt Rifle, Bozar Machinegun, and M249 Machinegun
  • Changed the Armor HP of of all the armor and clothes to its regular HP

What Does This Mod do?

This mod
  • changes the weapon names to its real life counterpart (05/18/2025 NOTE: This was an attempt but it does the job)
  • changes the weapon damage by basing it on the round and not the gun. (excluding unique items)(energy weapons work differently)(I haven't finish melee weapons yet) (05/18/2025 NOTE: This is not the first mod that tried to do this)
  • changes the ammo effects.
  • changes the NPC weapons and armor lists. (so far I have NCR, Legion, and Fiends done)
  • changes the armor system by adding 4 categories of armor. (Clothes ,Stab Vest, Ballistic Armor, and Power Armor)
  • changes the explosion effects have been tweaked to fit the damage model.
  • changes the perks in the game to balance the bullet penetration model. Perks that I changed are Junks Rounds Perk, Toughness, and some of the Perks in Old World Blues that increased your Damage Threshold.
  • adds Fallout New Vegas DLC items like, grenades, mines, explosives and throwing knifes to the grenade hotkey
  • gives Fallout New Vegas DLC items like helmets overlays and vision modes
  • adds tweaks to recipes for things like Junk Rounds and a new helmet recipe for the Lonesome Road DLC (I haven't added 12.7mm Junk round yet) (# Case + 1 Scrap Metal + 1 Tin Can + Perk = # Junk Rounds) (Bent tin can recipe to tin can)

Once you successfully install the mod,

click on the Mod Configuration Menu "MCM".

Go to the Project Nevada Rebalance Settings

Go to the Damage + Combat Tab

Change:
  • Player Endurance Multiplier to 1
  • Player Level Multiplier to 1
  • NPC Endurance Multiplier to 1
  • NPC Level Multiplier to 1
  • Minimum Damage to 1
  • Skill Damage Influence to 0
  • Gun Condition Multiplier to 0
  • in the MCM menu, go to Rebalances tab and change the loot percentages to 0%

Within the Game Menu do this
  • enable hardcore mode

Compatibility:
This mod is not compatible with mods that achieve the same objective. The current and previous versions of the mod are not compatible with Project Nevada Extra Options. It is recommended to have a light load-order when using this mod.
