    ATTENTION!

    The Bethesda.net versions of Fallout New Vegas (and Fallout 3) have been recompiled. This breaks most of the mods made in the last 10 years since NVSE will not work and no one will pick it up and make it work, let alone JIPLN, NVTF, NVAC, Johnny Guitar, Stewies Tweaks, etc. I will NOT support this version of the game either, so please do not ask. Refund the game and buy it from Steam or GoG if you want to use mods.

    Please read the description before you post or make bug reports.

    The GoG version of the game has 4GB enabled by default. You do not need to patch it. However the patch supports making the GoG version load NVSE automatically.

    To test if the patch is working, install the latest JIP_LN plugin and type GetIsLAA in the console, if it returns 2 then it is working, if it returns 0 then the patch didn't work, if it returns 1 then the patch worked but you need to run the game as administrator for it to take effect.

    If you get a black screen with ENB, run your game as administrator. Install presets like you would for the vanilla game. Do not follow instructions for the old 4gb, they will not work.
    ENB now supports ENBoost without graphics hack, your mileage may vary.

    ini edits that can give additional help

    bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1

    [BackgroundLoad]
    bSelectivePurgeUnusedOnFastTravel=1

    Don't use NVSR, use NVTF.

    Use Mod Limit Fix.

    Do not use the heap replacer in NVSR (Stutter Remover), it will make your game crash more often with an out of memory error.

    To know it works, if you have NVSE installed open the console and type GetNVSEVersion, if it's non-zero then it worked.

    Any complaints about this not working with a pirated version of the game will be met with a report to the staff.

    Comments not pertaining to the mod itself, or not pertaining to technical issues will be deleted.

    This is not a help desk for ENB, go to Boris' forum or the page for the ENB preset you downloaded.

    This is not a general help desk for your questions about other mods, your load order or software, your dogs flatulence issues, or whatever, go ask in the appropriate forums.

    There have been some errors with the patched executables generated by version 1.0 of this patcher, because I'm stupid sometimes.

    If you had troubles with the patcher or the executable it generates, restore your original executable (FalloutNV_unpatched.exe) or verify the game cache in Steam before running the shiny new 1.3 version.

    I'm having some trouble here, never modded fallout New Vegas before.  I only downloaded NVSE and JIP LN NVSE Plugin before downloading this.  Can't run the download, as administrator or otherwise, can only extract or open files.  Even worse, when I try to run NVSE it says it cannot find falloutnv.exe, despite it clearly being in the same folder.  It works too, as I can launch the game with the default launcher and from steam and vortex, so I really don't know what the problem is.  Any advice from veteran modders would be much appreciated.

    I can no longer keep track of real-world time. I used to be able to play New Vegas and tell myself I would get back to my important work when it crashed. Immediately after installing this mod, I played for over five hours, crash-free. I now play New Vegas with the only time limit being set in anticipation of a game-ending error which does not happen. I have officially lost control of my life.

    Thank you for making this possible.

      You must be installing the x64 version and not the x86 version as required.

    Every time the game closes the Windows "Compatibility Assistant" pops up saying "compatibility setting will be applied next time the program runs", what is this from? It only shows up after using the patcher

    I'm a little confused. DO i still need this mod if I got the latest version of NVSE?

    Which exe file should I launch after I install this mod?  nvse_loader or falloutnewvegas ?

    If you are having errors with installing 4GB patcher try this.  First ensure you have manually downloaded and extracted the 4GB patcher to your default Fallout New Vegas folder. Error when loading the patcher "0xc000007b" install V++ and run it, it's in the mod page description.Error when launching the game, 4GB patch not found. Verify your cache through Steam. Re-run patcher with administrator. Launch game and type in console GetIsLAA. If it returns 2 it's working, 1 you'll have to run FNV through administrator.

    So I've done a clean install of FNV for the Frontier but when I was doing the 4gb Patch it said, "FalloutNV.exe already patched!" But when I ran the "GetisLAA" command from JIP it gave me "0". Is there a way I can redo the Patch or is there a file I can delete in order for the patch to work?

    Problem Solved:
    I fixed this by revalidating my steam install.

    However, this patch work 100% for GoG version and Steam version only. Remember, ONLY...!
    I have two version of NV (steam and cracked), and i've test this mod support for which version.

    Now, If you think by saving your money, don't ask everyone if this mod work for your NV cracked version.

      Why would anyone have a (steam and) "cracked" version?
