Please read the description before you post or make bug reports.

The GoG version of the game has 4GB enabled by default. You do not need to patch it. However the patch supports making the GoG version load NVSE automatically.

To test if the patch is working, install the latest JIP_LN plugin and type GetIsLAA in the console, if it returns 2 then it is working, if it returns 0 then the patch didn't work, if it returns 1 then the patch worked but you need to run the game as administrator for it to take effect.

If you get a black screen with ENB, run your game as administrator. Install presets like you would for the vanilla game. Do not follow instructions for the old 4gb, they will not work.
ENB now supports ENBoost without graphics hack, your mileage may vary.

ini edits that can give additional help

    [General]
    bPreemptivelyUnloadCells=1

    [BackgroundLoad]
    bSelectivePurgeUnusedOnFastTravel=1

Do not use the heap replacer in NVSR (Stutter Remover), it will make your game crash more often with an out of memory error.

To know it works, if you have NVSE installed open the console and type GetNVSEVersion, if it's non-zero then it worked.

Any complaints about this not working with a pirated version of the game will be met with a report to the staff.

Comments not pertaining to the mod itself, or not pertaining to technical issues will be deleted.

This is not a help desk for ENB, go to Boris' forum or the page for the ENB preset you downloaded.

There have been some errors with the patched executables generated by version 1.0 of this patcher, because I'm stupid sometimes.

If you had troubles with the patcher or the executable it generates, restore your original executable (FalloutNV_unpatched.exe) or verify the game cache in Steam before running the shiny new 1.3 version.

When I installed the patch and opened the game, the game freezes and steam reported that I only got 20 fps, even I uninstalled NVSR the problem still occurs. Is problem with the game or mods?

If you have a laptop it's probably driver related and not detecting the game running.

I'm using NVSR with FNV4GB instead of nvse_config and had better performance. Is everything alright or am I doing wrong?
Can I use nvse_config and NVSR both using bReplaceHeap = 512?

It's not about performance, it's about stability. NVSR is not stable, NVSE is. Until we get a proper TBBMalloc replacement I don't recommend it, unless you are OK with the crashing.

About ENB, the only way to use 4GB Patcher is using ENBInjector?

When you try to use ENB + 4GB on the D3D9, I have a black screen, that gives me nerves because I do not like using the ENBInjector.

The game's music remains normal in the menu, however, the screen starts black. This bug only occurs when I use ENB + 4GB + D3D9. ENBInjetctor works normally.

TBBMalloc is a high-performance multi-threaded memory allocation algorithm. NVSR's implementation of it is not great.

I'll continue using ENBInject, that's the way ... Thanks RoyBatterian! One last question, Asurah is waiting for you to release the final version of the mod Weapon Mesh Improvement Mod to launch the AsurahAnimationPack?

If any graphic injector, be it ENB or Reshade, isn't working it's not the issue with the patcher nor it's the issue with the graphic injector. It's the issue with your version of Windows 10. The OS is lacking full version of directx libraries required for graphic mods. Try downloading and installing DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010) from Microsoft site first.

Steam install is as likely to check only for truncated version already coming with Win 10, conclude that you already have newest version installed and skip this step entirely.

The redist comes with the game, it should be in the game folder, you can install it manually from there.

You should be able to run the game normally with nvse loader.
As for the latest ENB binaries, use the injector version and enbinjector exe.

You don't need the NVSE loader (and shouldn't use it) if you installed NVSE correctly.

Yeah, my NV backup folder is ancient and had a lot of old .dll and NVSE plugins. It doesn't need using NVSE loader at all after cleaning it before installing script extender. :X

Is the main difference from this and other 4GB patches that this patch can load NVSE? I'm not sure if this even works for me because the game still crashes at 800mb or 1GB of RAM. I have also disabled the STEAM Overlay and added those INI changes. I also have disabled bReplaceHeap in New Vegas Stutter Remover. GetIsLAA also gives a number 2 in the console.

Task Manager does not give accurate ram use information.

There is no "other" 4GB patch, there is only the old loader.

GetIsLAA returning 2 means the patch is working as intended.

Remember that all Graphics memory for DirectX 9 is mirrored in RAM, so if you are using 2GB of textures at once in a scene you'll still run out of memory. If you have a laptop with shared memory this is even worse.

Strange, other games like Skyrim and Oblivion give correct amount last I remember. Another strange thing is that I enabled New Vegas Stutter Remover's ReplaceHeap and the crash stopped. Thanks for the help though, because I wasn't sure about RAM and Task Manager.

I have a question concerning this mod. It was my bread & butter for the longest time (whenever installing or patching New Vegas I would usually use the 4gb patcher just out of habit) but I've been noticing lately upon using it, the game gets a vicious memory leak, allowing anywhere between 2 hours to only 30 minutes before the game CTD's. Finally out of frustration I reinstalled the whole game, mods included without the 4gb patcher and now it runs like a dream.

Possible memory leak in the current build or does Valve change the Steam version to act like the GoG.com version, that it already has a 4gb patch installed and adding another one causes a memory leak?

The memory leak is probably in steam, disable the overlay as it's had this issue before. The game code itself is not changed in any way, any memory leak would have to be caused by either steam or some third party software.

Cool! Stable so far...will keep you posted. Thank you RoyBatterian =D
UPDATE: I just noticed something. I use a GeForce 1070 OC GPU with and just noticed Nvidia has an overlay app to. Do you think that's why the memory leak is there is that they're conflicting with each other? That would explain framerate loss sometimes with certain Steam games. Take for example Final Fantasy 14. I've heard some people having issues with the Steam overlay and GeForce GPU's for those that bought FF14 on Steam. I use the standalone launcher so don't have that issue. Interesting.

I know this was gone over thoroughly and please pardon me asking this here and now, but if I've installed this properly but I'm also using MO2 and want to run the game through my NVSE drop down that I've added rather than the default.exe so I don't have to change my .ini files to readme every time. Thank for this amazing mod and timely response!

I don't know what you mean with "readme" , running the FalloutNV.exe is what you should be running, not the FalloutLauncher.exe.

I was under the impression that when starting the game through the default launcher and/or steam rather than nvse_loader.exe, would mess with my .ini files. Thus I would need to change them to read me only. If I do this my MO2 will no longer be able to directly make changes to the .ini and so mods I download that do just that will not take effect. If I'm way off base here its because I am fairly new to modding and extremely new to NV modding.

You don't have to worry about it with MO2 at all, and running the FalloutNV.exe doesn't do anything to the ini files. Also you should use FalloutCustom.ini for any tweaks anyways.
