    Heads up to anyone who uses this with MO2 and messes up their armor like me;

After removing this mod, load your game without the effected mods loaded, save, then load the new save with the mods enabled.

Probably seems obvious but my goofy ass self tried just about everything else due to [Head Crippled]

the problem is, this is an esp that uses the same files as any other modification, even just stats, for power armor.

    it's poorly written, sadly.

It works fine if I load it last, but if I do that, even the texture replacers don't work.

it should simply be a sound replacer file that you can manage with FOMM or other mod manager. or rewrite the esp to affect sounds without affecting any other part of the armor files.

as it is, I can't live without my dark glowing power armor, so... bye bye.

It's not getting updated, still no Vortex support, files are mistitled (fst instead of fol), etc

      it's poorly written, sadly

Other than the misnamed audio files, not really.

Out-of-the-box incompatibilities like that are basically unavoidable, however, all it takes is a couple of minutes in FNVEdit to make this mod work alongside Power Armour-enhancing mods.
You could try to put in a little bit of effort instead of outright complaining about the mod being badly made.

How can you do that? I'm pretty new in the modding world of Fallout, so it would be nice knowing how to edit this mod so it doesn't break the other ones. XD

Way too late a response, but for anyone else wondering, you can easily make a patch using FNVEdit. Just search "Phaedrathallassa How to Make a Patch with TES5edit" on YouTube and the appropriate video will appear. Although this tutorial is for Skyrim mods, the same principles should apply when using FNVEdit.

(Also, if anyone would like to confirm that my advice is accurate I would appreciate it. I've been modding Skyrim for basically a decade now, but I'm still relatively new to the Fallout NV scene).

      Goodluck! :))

I love this mod, but I'm noticing a weird issue where the forward power armor running sound is delayed slightly *only* while in 3rd person. So I hear my normal footstep sound first, and then the power armor sound. This issue also extends to forward diagonal running in 3rd person. The forward 3rd person walking is fine. Just the 3rd person forward running sound isn't. 1st person is fine though. Not sure if this is an issue with the mod, or something else.

Awesome, awesome, awesome mod mate. really makes power armor feel heavy and bulky, 200% more immersive and rewarding.

I am trying to apply this sound effect to a custom piece of power armor using the GECK but I am having trouble doing so, I have been unable to find this mod on the FormList, I was wondering if you or anyone who is willing to could give any assistance on this matter. I am very new to using the GECK, I apologise if i have missed something simple.

edit:- This problem is solvable using FNVEdit:

-Use the ModuleSelection window on start up ensure the plugin containing your custom/ mod armor is selected.
-Navigate to the plugin using the FormID list and find the piece of armor you wish to apply the sfx to.
-Select the piece of armor and scroll to the bottom of the editing window, untill you find "TNAM - Animtion Sounds Template".
-Double-click the value on the right and change to "ArmorPowerAudioTemplate "ArmorPowerAudioTemplate" [ARMO:0013F297]" or whichever value applies to the version you wish to apply to the piece of armor.
-Confirm with enter, save the plugin, close FNVEdit and if using loaders deploy your mod list.
    -Lauch game.

Used a comment string below from oc3l0t and KushanBlackrazor to work this out so you can thank them for the solution.

Oh and this mods works with Project Reality Footsteps extremely well. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/68430

This is a brilliant mod. Thank you mate

If you're using Vortex you can go to the Mods section and click Install From File. You don't have to unzip the file or anything, just enable after Vortex imports it. All it does is put the .esp file into your FNV Data folder, then puts 'fol' folder into Data -> Sound -> fx

sorry to bug you again but, when i tried this mod coupled with this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60684/? the sound doesn't work on the t-60s. it works with the other power armors. do you know what could be wrong?

      It's no bother, don't worry
It actually isn't compatible with the mod, my bad
I uploaded a patch for it, give it a try and report back if it still isn't working
I'll see what I can do

Overwrite the Soft Footsteps esp with the patch's esp
If you aren't using the default version, just copy and paste the file name of the esp you're using to the patch and overwrite the old esp with it

alright so, i've tried the patch, and not to sound like an idiot but, which option is to overide the original mod. I'm pretty sure it's "no to folder"

I just recently installed this mod because i just hated how the vanilla power armor movement doesn't make any heavy footsteps at all. After installing it with the soft hydraulics, the mod works...in some ways:

    1) Slow walking generates the sounds
    2) Normal jog doesn't
    3) Using the Just Sprint, the mod can generate the running sounds

I found this mod really useful for my own gamepley, but i have a question/suggestion:
T-57c air force power armor (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/37261) and Classic Enclave power armor (https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/42867) dont have any sounds, just default, can fix or pacht that or any idea how to do it?

Use FNV Edit, at the bottom of the entry for those armors you should be able to set them as "ArmorPowerAudioTemplate"

Is the effect also applied to NPC's?
