how do I add this to the improved holdout list using fnvedit? anyone can give me a step by step tutorial? There isn't a damn tutorial video I can find on how to do this.
You can probably only add it through a specific "perk" list in the GECK. I'm not entirely certain, but I think it's the only way - and by "perk" list I mean, that the holdout scenario is likely considered as a temporary perk in the game, while you're in the casinos. Once again, I'm not certain about this, although it is likely that the game is based like so for this scenario (holdout weapons).
I... personally wouldn't do that, even if I knew how.
These are full-size standard frame M1911s, not any dinky little vest pocket pieces. It seems very unrealistic, in my opinion, that anybody would pat you down and miss one of these on you.
But I will suggest this: Casinos (and the Legionary at the Fortification Hill arrival point) pat you down. They apparently don't bother patting down your companions. So give it to a Companion to hold onto before you walk into the casino, then get it back from your Companion after you've been patted down.
Additional thought: There is a nifty little mod which allows you to buy an Attache case. Throw it into your load order, and although you can certainly get a subcompact shooter like the P320 past the patdown, you can fill your attache case with harder hitting hardware like one of these .45s or (hell, never mind the 'or', let's go with 'and'!) even a break-down-able rifle like the Snow Owl.
Hey, that's a good idea. BTW, I exported the pistols into the game, but I'm now struggling with zeroing them in nifskope and at this point, I think I'll have to move the entire mesh around a little bit, otherwise the sight picture won't line up and I really don't want to leave the guns' sights misaligned, because that turns people from using these guns off a lot.
One more thing... could you point out the color variant that you'd like to me again? Just link me a picture of the 1911 with the slide and the frame colors, that you wanted.
No, but I almost got bitten by a king cobra the other day, because some russian modded the snake models from NewCalifornia and added them to the Mojave. Never really thought I'd see different kinds of snakes in FNV, besides just the rattlers. I'm currently adding some more detail to the texture of your variant and after I'm done, I'm going to have to re-export the models, because there is no other way to properly align the sights; Plus there is a glitch with one of the materials and I hope I'm going to be able to fix that as well. If not, I'll just use the standard matcap and it's going to look ok, too. Till' next time.
Considering that you get swarmed by radscorpions when you go down the hill from the Cemetery to get there, having it not be there once you've survived/fought through all those bad boys must have been some potent rage fuel. lol
First off, the pistols are beautiful, and hit every bit as hard as they should. Awesome weapons.
However... adding the Osprey suppressor to any of them resulted in them being 100% silent. As in, no 'suppressed weapon sound effect.'
I have no idea what caused that. I had a weapon sounds overhaul running -- disabled it, no change.
I went into FNVEdit and found that each of these pistols were set to use a silenced 10mm pistol sound. I changed those entries to use the silenced 45 pistol sound and that fixed it.
Just wanted to point this out in the event the mod maker -- or any of the users -- encounter the same problem for any reason.
I wanted to drop back in here to reiterate that I love these guns.
But this time, I have a request:
If this mod is ever updated (not that it strictly "needs" an update, but y'know, if the maker of it ever gets the itch to do one) could we get a new custom model?
Request for the new custom: 1. Brushed steel frame + slide, black grips. 2. Have it use the following mods:
1. Enhanced trigger 2. Osprey Silencer 3. Red dot sight (like this one: https://www.recoilweb.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/KimberRecoil-670x446.png)
Whether you believe it or not, I'm currently integrating a Commander-sized 1911 into Fallout 4. It's an old project, that I had promised some people I'd finish and it's about time I do so. Have no fear though, it will be available for New Vegas soon enough as well, most likely before Christmas, so that you'll be able to enjoy another bunch of 1911s (six different variants) for holidays :)
Note that these guns are going to be very, very close to the actual 1911 commander pistols in terms of realism, the only deviation from an actual commander, that I could spot being the thickness of the front face/part of the slide rail and that's pretty much it, apart from maybe a slight slimness overtone of the overall gun.
Now about the mods and the paint job... It'll have 3 different triggers, 3 sights (including a custom, slide mounted reflex sight) and 3 muzzle devices, as well as two types of magazines (an 8-rounder and an extended +2; giving the gun 10 rounds in total, excl. the chamber).
Oh, I totally forgot to mention, that I will be making additional textures (paint jobs if you will) for these gun in the future, so I think I'll start with the one you requested. You will be able to replace the original textures with newer variants in the textures folder of the game.
Just this, take it or leave it ;) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56949
Currently it's for FO4 only, but I'll port it over to FNV at some point as well! That is, sometime during the spring time... in let's say march for instance.
Still keeping an eye out for that port. (The 22nd has come and gone. :P I'm teasing; I know you do this for free, so I'm grateful for whatever we get, of course.)
One the better looking 1911s, and they are so fun to use. The osprey suppressor is a nice touch and the sound quality is great with and without the suppressor.
Yeah I gotta fix that someday, I know it sucks. I'll just replace the models in the exposition of the vendortrons' booth with images/textures and upload a fix for this mod
Really love this mod, the pistols look great, the engraved one is my favorite! I just wished for some glow sights for easier low light condition shooting. Or even a red dot sight of some sort!

Kimber 1911 in "Cobalt Cerakote ?(frame and slide) and graphite black (grips)."
Very low profile but good looking piece, ideal color scheme for a Courier who likes to keep it stealthy but still deal the .45 haymakers. :)
