My approach to customizing the venerable and dependable model 1911, designed by John Moses Browning. Many years have passed, yet his design still
remains in use even after that many years. The goal of my approach to customizing this sidearm was esthetical modernization of it. I wanted to
modernize this gun with retaining the beauty of the original design. I chose to customize the model 1911 because it has a high level of accuracy and
reliability, because it is battle proven and I know that it just works, even in adverse conditions. It also has good stopping power, because of the .45 ACP
(Automatic Colt Pistol) cartridge, which is known for its high stopping power and making of big holes:) My 1911 model looks a lot like the Kimber Warrior,
although it's not the same! My model has a larger magazine well, that makes reloading a bit faster and also increases compatibility with different types of
magazines, since there were reports on Springfield models with not compatibile magazines. Overall, Ed Brown magazines seem the best compatibile with
most models, at least that's what most people recommend. My model has fixed sights and a 1913 style piccatiny rail, which is different than the one on
the Springfield or Kimber models. It permits attachment of any Mil-Spec compatibile attachments. The barrel is 5 inches long and it's match grade, just
like the bushing. The slide is virtually self-lubricating and resistant to corrosion, because of the Melonite finish that is resistant to the elements.Thumb
safety is ambidextrous with the switch on the right being positioned lower than the one on the left for better accessibility. Both safety switches have an
enhanced texture to ensure a positive grip, regardless of conditions. There is a different finish on every model. I have made several different texture
sets, each having a different finish, except the engraved ones. Grips are also different on every individual model.
---> Classic: Melonite (Probably the best and most durable, anti-corrosive finish), Standard "Black" polymer grip plates.
---> Classic: Melonite finish, Wooden "Bubinga Wood" grip plates with a rugged texture.
---> Desert Elite: Cerakote "Flat Dark Earth" finish, Tactical "Digital Camo" polymer grip plates with a rugged texture.
---> Kryptek Camo: Cerakote "Kryptek: Desert Mandrake and Typhon Mix" finish, Standard "Kryptek: Typhon" polymer grip plates.
---> Engraved Models (Confederate,Battle-Born,SemperFi): Stainless Steel finish (Engraved), Ivory (textured) grip plates.
You can buy all of the models, except the engraved (special) ones and all of their modifications at the Gun Runners. You can find the unique, engraved
versions just below the Goodsprings cemetery's water tower. Right below the ridge there is a precipice and beyond it there are going to be a few rocks
and a flag sticking out them. There is also going to be a collector's edition M1911 duffle bag with 3 different engraved 1911s and some .45 Auto
cartridges. There are three modifications: Suppressor (SilencerCo Osprey), Recoil Compensator (VSX .45) and an enhanced trigger assembly. The
suppressor reduces weapon noise, compensator reduces recoil and the enhanced trigger assembly increases rate of fire. The Classic, Classic II, Desert
Elite and Kryptek Camo models can be modified with all three mods, however the engraved versions can only be fitted with a suppressor or a
compensator. You can repair the models with .45 Auto pistols from the Honest Hearts DLC. All models are also on display in the Vendortron kiosk, along
with a few other weapons added to the display.
