So, found out today that the version of this mod that has been up on here for several months--and has gotten almost 500 downloads--has a messed up link in the GECK that makes the mesh for the Pulse Rifle invisible. Whoops! Just uploaded a new version that will both fix that and includes the missing mesh that was originally an update file.
I've noticed the same problem with the xenos only spawning once. Now I do have Fallout New California installed, and the thing did attack me in that worldspace, but I've yet to have seen one spawn in the Mojave. Best advice, If you plan to install it, do so after you complete FNC.
The first xeno appears without an issue, I was in Sloan but after 20 minutes, I went to Nelson and then went outside for a break, the body remained. I went back to my last save and killed the first one in Novac, then I ft'd to Black Rock Mountain, waited 15 minutes and went back to Novac, the body was still there. Oh, the Chitin if dropped also leaves a huge exclamation mark, the textures and meshes all were installed properly so I guess maybe there isn't one for the Chin since the modder assumed no one would drop the items?
Too bad, the aliens look good but the de-spawn thing just doesn't fly, the funny thing is, those feral ghouls near Novac, they re-spawn super fast I found out while testing this mod, I mean re-spawn in maybe one game day..
had one come after me in the basement of the REPCONN test site. i killed it but now the corpse wont de-spawn and i still need four more chitin to create the armor (i like the xenomorphs from the alien series and don't want to just cc the extra chitin into my inventory). i even got some weapons from Alien isolation to fit the theme. please help cuz i have been wanting more of them to show up =(
Quick Question, are these aliens set to only attack the courier and their companions or will one of these things kill half of Novac by the time I notice it?
Their faction is set to be hostile to every other faction, but they have two separate packages that force them to only hunt down the Courier. They will fight other people if the other people attack them first, but they won't actively go out of their way to do it.
They should spawn in about 500 of whatever the game's units of measurement are away from you, as long as you're in the "Wasteland New Vegas" worldspace (which is anywhere not indoors and not in Goodsprings proper). Then they home in on you using a modified version of the same script the legion/NCR assassination squads use. I have it set for it to check whether you're in the correct worldspace 2 1/2 minutes after you kill the first alien, and if you are it despawns it. Then it should run the check again 2 1/2 minutes after that and spawn in the next alien. So 5 minutes between each one, basically, as long as you didn't happen to be inside when it ran the check, then it'll be longer, since it'll have to run the check again in another 2 1/2 minutes.
Best way to check if it's working properly is to hang out outside for a while, then travel back to where you killed the first one and see if the body despawned. If it's still there then something's wrong. So let me know if it's not despawning.
