Buddy Bot READ ME

REQUIREMENTS:

Only the basic game is required. You do not need any of the DLCs.

INSTALLATION:

Click the "Download with Manager" button to automatically install using a Mod Manager. For manual installs, click the "Download Manually" button to download the mod, unzip it, copy the files and folders into your game's DATA folder so that they merge with the existing items - allow overwriting of files. Lastly, activate the mod.

LOAD ORDER REQUIREMENTS:

There are no Load Order requirements at this time. Position the .esp file wherever you like.

SAVED GAME COMPATIBILITY:

This mod should be compatible with any saved game.

UPDATING OLDER VERSIONS:

Install the new version, allowing overwriting of files. Or uninstall any older version, then install this new one.

UNINSTALLING:

Use the uninstall/deactivation mechanism if you used a mod manager.

To manually uninstall, delete the following files: Buddy Bot.esp, Buddy Bot.bsa

KNOWN PROBLEMS:

Since this mod uses non-standard values for companion "healing" and requires spare parts instead of stimpaks, special scripting is required to handle mouse clicks when "healing" via the Companion Wheel. As a result, the health numbers that you see may not always appear to be quite right until you briefly move the mouse cursor away from that "pie slice" (although the actual health will always update correctly).

The trench coat that can be acquired during the initial quest is based upon an item that was never meant to be worn by a Player Character. It is marked as Non-Playable by the game. However, I decided that it, plus two other items, would make a nice set for a starting character - and so adapted it for general use. However, there can be visual quirks when walking with a weapon drawn in First Person view as well as some clipping around the Pip-Boy. Since I have no modeling skills, that is the price that is paid to wear it.

While nothing has been done to intentionally prevent this companion from being used with a DLC, there has also been no testing (much less verification) to ensure it works correctly in those places.

PERMISSIONS:

This mod may not be reused in part or whole for any purpose other than its original intent. It may not be uploaded to any other web site. Get in touch with me if you wish to discuss things; for example, translation into a non-English language.
