The cabinet in the quest givers tent is not safe storage, even when the esp is placed at the bottom of a load order. It will eat your bibles and anything else you put in them.
Kou know, knowing Bethesda, I wouldn't be surprised if this were an actual quest in a future fallout game. If you play Skyrim you know what I'm talking about.

EDIT: today all worked fine. used the standard Steam Launcher: fired up the most recent save, entered the door and voila. all is good. Yesterday would not work at all. go figure.
This is a pretty nice mod tbh, only complaint is a problem I had with the bibles I put in the wooden locker disappearing and Theodosius not recognizing I had said bibles after I got them (again).
I'd also like to say that I /love/ all the misc junk items everywhere, stuff like that really tickles my fancy.
I truly enjoyed this mod. I recovered 42 bibles, but when I go back to where the mod started I get no recognition from the old man or his companion. I tried putting 37of the bibles in the cabinet, but I still get nothing. The quest stays active. One other thing is that my map shows numerous quest markers in the local mode which makes it very hard to find the bibles in large places like McCarran and Vault 19. Is this a bug or maybe a conflict just I'm having? Thanks. I'd like to finish, please help.
Probably a conflict. Make sure you only have 37 bibles in your inventory and talk to him. Also I already mention in the description that you can just not set the quest as active if the map markers bother you. If it still doesn't work, you could try some earlier save. I don't know why it wouldn't work, sorry. The code's really simple so there isn't much reason why it wouldn't work as intended.
Exactly 37 worked for me. On my way to do the next step. I have a bunch of my own music in a mod that expands Mojave Radio and when I went back to the tent to turn in the bibles Kitty Wells was singing ' Dust on the Bible'. Had to laugh.
Finding the master tapes for every last Beatles album so new copies could possibly be produced would be a worthwhile undertaking as well. Just saying.
On another note, if I were to use the printing press I have from another mod I use to produce pornography over to printing bibles would I get good karma?
