btw the golden caps doesnt drop into a "model" anymore, so when you drop the caps, you are just dropping them into the void, would be cool if you could add some golden caps with the golden bottle press, name it "golden counterfeit cap" or smth, for decor. but this mod is very old so i doubt that'll ever happen lol.
Indeed, I'm using the vanilla gold bar texture into the cap mesh so if people use texture replacers, the caps can benefit as well. I'll make some better textures and upload them in a minute.
I would have liked to add an extra press instead to avoid messing with the quest one, but my GECK is bugged in certain cells and does not display anything in them, so I can't see anything in the SS HQ. I made a version that replaces the quest item directly so you should not install it until you've finished Pressing Matters, if that's alright with you, and uploaded it as an optional file.
Just out of curiosity, would it be possible to have a release where the gold bottlecaps are under the 'caravan money' banner as opposed to the 'misc' banner? The NCR and Legion money is contained in there, which is why they always sell for the same amount, regardless of Barter.
Hm, well, I don't really know how to do that but I could try and see what I can do Would it just be a matter of duplicating, say, the $100 bill, renaming it and such and making the script from the press point at it instead of the other one? I'll test around and see.
EDIT: Seems like I got it to work, so I uploaded a new file now.
Any problem with "Exchange Rates" in game? If one golden equals 20 regular, any problems with vendors taking them correctly or am I reading this wrong and you can only "exchange" them for 20 caps and not actually buy anything (directly) with them? This thing looks awesome...considering I've got nearly 55 gold bars stashed away from The Sierra Madre.
You just sell them as a regular clutter item, I just set their price to 20 caps each so perhaps, if your barter skill is low, you may get a bit less money for them. I'm not very good at scripting so that's about all I could do. Thank you for the compliment
I'm not planning on making any updates, but thank you Besides, I figure there must always be some material that's lost during the smelting process. That's my excuse

Cool to see it actually happen
Although I think perhaps you should have made the total weight of the 20 caps you make, match the original weight of the gold bar.
