Funny you say that Godzillafan93, because in the film "Equilibrium" the Walther WA 2000 made an appearance as a shotgun.

I guess the only "problem" I have with the mod, and its not really a problem with Fallout being in an alternate timeline, is that in real life there were less than 200 WA 2000s manufactured by Walther. That would make this gun impossibly rare by 2077 let alone 2281 and that silly little destruction of civilization thing in the middle.
Then it wouldn't be a Walther WA 2000, it would be more like the Ironwood Designs SG-2000 (which is a .22 LR instead of the Walther's .308 Winchester). I'm more willing to accept the timeline divergence in this case.
You're taking the game to serious. Alternative timeline is the keyword. In the game the US got power armor, stealth boy, laser and plasma based weapons but the culture is get stuck in the McCarthy era...or so called "McCarthyism"..
In Fallout 2 you could use the H&K G11, a special gun with special cartridges. In the real world this gun had only prototype status, so the chance to get one of this guns or ammunition after 200 years is lesser than getting a WA 2000.
That's exactly why I mentioned the alternate timeline stuff when I brought it up. It bugs me a tiny bit as a person who likes realism but I can let it go as a person who likes alternate realities.... I may be a contradictory person but in all honesty, who isn't at some level? In the end I was just pointing out the differences between our version of history and what could be possible in Fallout's history.

176 made, actually, most of them in .300 Win Mag. IRL, a brand new WA2000 in the unopened box costs more than a transferable M16 ($20,000+, in other words).
Still beats the Pancor Jackhammer's record though. Only -two- of those ugly-ass things were ever made IRL, and they're both in museums.
