Hi guys, tried installing this plug-in, got some mixed results, maybe you can tell me why.

Well, the thing is that modded sunglare IS there and I can see it, however, this will work only until the first save loading in the play session, after which there is only the default sunglare back again. Looks strange, but 'cause I can still see the modded sunglare if I restart the game and make it to the wastes, I suppose that the plug is installed right and there is some other bug out there. If it's important, Steam Ultimate version, some racial plugins for Rugged Races and some plugged hairstyles (checked them all in G.E.C.K., no imagespace modifications or whatsoever), BUUT have tried to install enb's, wasn't so happy and deleted all enb files, maybe it matters. Also Nevada Skies w/ darker nights. That seems to be all. How do you think, can some of those influence the texture replacers?

Kinda puzzled out here.

UPD: oh yeah, Archive Invalidation is working, so no problem there.

UPD 2: Uhmm, after some playtesting it seems that save-loading does not do anything with messing sunglare up. Rather, it is entering an interior location. Looks like if I enter some interior and go out in any method - even loading up a save that was in the exterior - sunglare will go awry. Strange. Maybe should try disabling mods. Tell you here if get any results. Plugin is really promising and sunglare is kewl beyond measure, y'know.

UPD3: Still haven't figured this out. It actually seems to something with me entering the interior rather with exiting it, as I was able to see the glare once after having been loaded into sewers near McCarran and going outta 'em. Yet I lost the glare when I went in and out after that (in the same session). I thought that I might have had some problem with .bsa for NevadaSkies or what there and whatnot, and unpacked basic sun files and make sure that glare file is older. That didn't work, apparently, but I'll still continue to climb in that direction. Maybe replace sunglare.dds, it is not involved with NSkies, though it'll cripple the glare a bit.

UPD4: Seems to be an engine bug, here's some posts on it. It might - just might be cured by .bsa ninja'ing, yet I do not know how to do it yet. However, CptnJoker says there that it is an integral bug of game engine and is present in even unmodded game w/ their vanilla glare, so yuck.

UPD5, last: *giggle* seems like we've fixed this. Actually, after loading out of interior cell, the game engine stops using the nv_sunglare.dds (or nssunglare.dds in NSkies case). So replacing them is useless. Buuut, engine just chooses another .dds, also found in .bsa archives, it's named sunglare.dds and is located in textures/sky/ folder. So you kinda can rename your glare dds of choice to sunglare.dds and toss it there, so it would look like data/textures/sky/sunglare.dds
Worked for me! Cheers, pals.

but it still sometimes bugs out, but much more rarely.

Hi all,

I've been trying this mod in combination with Realistic Wasteland Lighting Overhaul and everything seems to be working fine for me. Just remmember to install this mod AFTER RWLO and this mod will overwrite one single texture of RLWO.

Have just one consideration. There is a mistake with one of the downloads. The CA Version have an error with the name with one file inside the textures folder. In it there is another folder called "fnvwrlo" but the correct name is "fnvrwlo". If you don't change it before installing the mod, the mod will NOT overwrite the sunglare texture and it won't work.

Despite this, the mod works fine and the new sunglare is a lot better that the one in RWLO.

Just tried to use this with FNVRWLO.

I do not see any sunglare, but instead the game turns into a slideshow when looking into the sun. Using Onix ENB 1.8

edit: I'm not so sure anymore if the framerate drops were caused by this mod. After uninstalling the textures and loading the same savegame, framerate drops when looking into the sun were still there.
Reverting to an older savegame fixed it.

However the sunglare simply won't show up in the game.

Can't seem to get them to work properly with fnvrwlo, seems I can never get sun replacers to work right with that mod.

I tried renaming it to fnvrwlo_sun.dds but the sun then looks too large and has a big square box around it. It's default glare files are blank and I don't think it makes any use of them even if they aren't.

Yeah, I did have a few issues with that mod, but It seems that fnvrwlo seems to make sunglares very transparent. I'll have a look at fnvrwlo later and see if the directories are incorrect, or if the mod itself reduces sunglare opacity.

you can easy fix the default sunglare. create just a black texture without alpha channel and thats all. rename it to the default sunglare and copy it into the sky folder. do the same for the sun texture.
