About:
NVEC includes the cool feature of giving you an empty bottle or tin can in your inventory whenever you consume something. This mod makes them weigh less than full ones.
Naturally, that has the effect of reducing the weight of ALL empty bottles and cans lying around the Mojave weigh less too. But it wouldn't make any sense if empty bottles lying around in the world weighed less than any empty ones in your inventory.
I may have started an existential crisis in some "realism" advocates out there...

Just use the mighty NMM or your own preferred alternative.
Compatibility:
Due to the huge amount of weight mods available the only guidance I can give is pretty rule of thumb. It might still work when placed after another re-weighting mod or it may not. There really are too many out there to be certain of anything and I truly wish it was possible to be more helpful. Good luck!
Details:
Empty bottles are 1/5th the weight of full ones. Empty tin cans are 1/10th the weight of full ones.
* A version that does not require NVEC or any DLC is available as an optional download. Without NVEC this is basically a re-weighting mod for bottles and cans. You will not have any placed in your inventory whenever you consume tinned food or bottled drinks.
However, if you load the Low Weight Empties non-NVEC version after the original mods (that are now included in NVEC); Empty Bottles by Cooleo Bottle That Water by LFox and AddEmptyBottle by etempest you should get the desired effect.
