* There is now a patch for Dead Money, courtesy of Soukey. This was actually ready months ago, but then an unfortunate amount of real life intruded and I forgot about it.
* Rhonda's personal items will no longer show up for sale (Soukey's idea)
* There is now an ammo crafting bench next to the workbench (also Soukey's idea). I've also made an optional patch for the Automatic Reloading Bench mod, which I highly recommend. It makes ammo crafting far less tedious. You'll need to install that mod to use the patch or your game will crash: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/38405/
Without the ARB patch, the regular reloading bench will be there.
* A crate is added in between the crafting and ammo benches for parts storage. It is owned by the player and will not respawn. NPCs shouldn't bother the stuff inside, but no guarantees.
* Steam Gauge Assembly added to crafting list (thx bigcrazewolf)
* Helmets for the normal, reinforced and reinforced Mk2 combat armors moved to the medium armor list. Obsidian had them miscategorized as light armor instead of medium armor, so I had them categorized incorrectly as well. (This probably explains why they're so hard to repair, even with the Jury Rigging perk.)
* Ammo crafting items increased back to 25 each for sale. IMPORTANT: There is a bug with ammo crafting supplies. If you buy more than one of the same bulk item, not only will you not get all of the stuff you bought, there's a decent chance your game will crash. Obsidian, quite frankly, made a mess of the script that handles this transaction. There is a patch that fixes this issue: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39632/ That patch is included in the Yukichigai Unofficial Patch Compilation: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/51664
I'd recommend one patch or the other or you're going to have problems buying ammo parts.
Unfortunately, even with the patch, once you buy any amount of ammo parts from Rhonda, the particular item you bought will disappear from her stock until her merchant chests respawn. I haven't the slightest idea how to fix that, so buy everything you intend to buy before exiting the menu.
* Although it was my intention to make a patch for Weapon Mods Expanded (WMX), I'm afraid it's not going to happen. That mod is *huge* and that's too much work for this lazy modder.
**** KNOWN ISSUES ****
* You might begin to experience large delays when opening menus, containers and dialogs, especially with an older PC. I don't know if this mod is causing that problem or if it's just something wrong on my end, but it's very annoying. I've found that using Zan's Autopurge mod gets rid of this problem: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/49319/
* It's possible to deplete Rhonda's supply of caps, then have her repair something and magically a bunch of caps will appear in her inventory (far more than what you spent on repairs). I have no idea what causes that and no idea how to fix it. Just pretend it's a feature, not a bug.
Currently testing an update with the DLC patches merged (minus Dead Money). Apparently New Vegas has a much smaller plugin limit than other games based on this game engine, so I think combining the patches is the right thing to do. I've noticed while playing that a few things are in the wrong categories, so I'll be fixing that, and I'll be massively increasing her supply of scrap metal, as I keep finding myself short of lead any time I try to make lots of .50 ammo.
How do i install the optional mod so that Rhonda can sell DLC stuff? I've downloaded both the main file and the optional file, but whenver i try to activate the two at the same time, one of them keeps on overwriting the other. Please help. Thank you.
okay so i downloaded the automated reloading bench, and it allowed me to activate both mods without having it crash. But Rhonda still won't sell DLC stuff to me. Please Help??
Not sure I understand what you're saying. There's the main file and six optional files. Five of the optionals handle DLC stuff and the sixth is a patch for the reloading bench mod. Are all six optional files activated?
now i can't say with all certainty that this mod destroyed my game but when i loaded textures all over went wonky as in big red/white exclamation points and my pipboy not working, interactions not responsive. but here's the real kicker... everything was so messed up i quit the game and uninstalled the mod and and my last 5 saves disappeared. now out of good habit i always make a new save to protect the integrity of my game and to protect against this type of thing. but low and behold 5 save simply don't exist anymore. i know weird right, there's no reason the mod should have done that, I had a lot of hope for a merchant with a difference but i'm not taking another chance on this sorry.
That sounds like what happens when you hit the plugin limit. If you had 100+ or especially 200+ plugins active, that's probably what happened. Search the forums for info about it. You could try combining some plugins with this and see if that helps anything: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/39655/
Major (long overdue) update coming (hopefully) later today, including support for Dead Money courtesy of Soukey. If not today (Feb 5), then definitely tomorrow.
Having to shop by category is a little jarring, but with SO much stuff in her inventory, I can see why it's necessary, and I'm not complaining one bit. Rhonda is just what I needed!
That's a long-standing bug in the game. The NPCs in those barracks are just stuck in there until you walk in and "free" them. Not sure why Blake was in there though. Far as I know, he never leaves his trading area.
I just met her for the first time. I like her silly little comments, but I sure would like to hear them someday. I hope that is in the works.
When I read "Rhonda the Merchant," I did go looking for her at the top of Black Mountain. I thought it was that Rhonda. When I didn't find a merchant up there, I figured I had a mod load order problem. So, it was nice to see her when I got to CCC. Boy was my face Crimson.
Ran into the bug that crashes the game when buying ammo crafting supplies. Now that I have seen your response elsewhere to that situation I will just stick to buying the premade ammo, breaking it down, and crafting the ammo I want. Nice mod as it is always good to have other places to buy or sell items. Thank you for the time and effort it took to create this.
