Is there any way to clean up the hoover dam trigger dialogue? I get tired of hearing the "Wanna go do the battle at hoover dam all over again but it's bugged now?" dialogue.

    In response to post #21945324.

wtf, why would you ever blow up the securitron army?
I'm sorry but I must call you retarded

My character is a mass murderer who nuked both the NCR and Legion, killed Benny, House, Caesar, Lanius, Vulpes, Papa Khan, Kimball, Lee and a whole plethora of psychopathic murderers and got away with it like a boss !

I dont need no tin cans to fight my battles either, I've got the BoS, the Boomers and some of the hardest bastards this side of Bosnia to back me. If that makes me retarded then so be it

I destroyed the BOS, they're independent and their goal conflicts with your rule of New Vegas. The Securitrons in the other hand, are 100% loyal to you. No reason to fight the Khans, they just leave the Mojave and grow their own nation, should be easy to ally with them, which also provides nice trade. Kimball shouldn't be killed either, House had the right idea of why.

Apart from that, I also nuked everyone, slaughtered the slaughtering Legion, kicked out House and the NCR.

so I maintain my previous point, which was blowing up the robots is retarded ^_^
...the part about BOS is retarded too...
      no hard feelings :p

If you like to RP (like me) I can see why you wouldn't want to destroy the BoS. Examples:

-You RP as a member of your own Faction who just doesn't want war with the Brotherhood (me, this type goes well with the Enclave Commander Mods and RTS)

-You are RPing as a member of the Brotherhood of steel

-You are RPing as a pacifist

-You just like the Brotherhood and see them as valued allies

it is a Roleplaying game after all.

Haha I might not fully agree with the use of the word retard but I for sure don't see why kill off the Securitron Army. Blowing up the Securitrons as an independent is like piling up your weapons and blowing them up, since they are 100% yours Yes Man IMO was there in game only as a means for quests to move you forward it has no agenda it's job is to say yes to you. Only reason I can see to blow them up is as a role player fearing they can one day be taken from you but that goes for anything really. More likely the BoS would turn on you.

I kept all but legion as I role play a character pretty much trying to rebuild the world and allies and trade partners are not only welcome but economy being important makes it a better idea. I keep wanting a mod around that idea F4 out or not lol.

Is this dead? I really want to know >_<

No, I bounce back and forth between a lot of FONV projects. But if you want to help by contributing ideas, bug reports etc, hit up the main thread, An independent New Vegas mod For whatever weird reason, even though I have this thread tagged as watched, I never get a alert when someone posts, so I use the other thread.

I got reffered here by that Independent Vegas Mod on the forum. Whats the status of this mod? I blew up the Securitron base in Fortification Hill as I prefer having the BoS on my side, will there be any influence of them in Mojave, such as patrols or fireteams. Perhaps even having them retaking HELIOS or setting up outposts in Vault 11 and Vault 3. I'll be dowloanding this later and using it when I complete Vegas eventually.

I'm a bit confused about this mod. Does it allow you to continue playing after the battle of hoover dam, or does it just clean up the dam after another mod allows you to continue playing past the ending?

Oh I can add teh script fix for allowing one to play past the end, it's only a few lines. I dind't do it because there is already CAGE out there and everyone seems to already be using it. But I'll add it tonight or tomorrow.

"The mod has no dependencies and should only be loaded after the second battle of hoover dam concludes."

So let me get this straight, you say you need us to not tick the data in the launcher till after the end battle? But the game ends after the second battle, so how to do that? Unless you mean to save it before the slideshow starts, then exit the game and then tick the data file, and then continue the game from that save...?

It's the same way one would do so with or without the mod. Usually people use CAGE. I'll be implementing a similar system to allow it to be used at any time (before or after the battle), in teh next beta. But if you use it now, before the battle, it will change the hoover and fort environment. It's a very carefully designed envionment and it would destroy many of the things the developers were trying to do for the final battle.

I am so excited to see this acutally come to fruition. I've beenw aiting for this project tor each at elast an Alpha stage for so long. So excited!

Hey TNU, good to see you brother. This is beta 101, it's on the dev page since Aug of last year (and available for a few months before that for beta testing by users of our thread). But we just didn't have enough beta testers for feedback. I'm hoping posting it the nexus site proper/main will help to get more feedback.

Will this mod require CAGE to be installed in order for this file to work or does it already use some assets from it?

OK just checked no alterations to the end script, so I'll add that. I think I'll also add a glob or some other var as a hook to fire off the script. It will allow you to load the mod up anytime prior to the end of the battle so the edits to the Vending script can come into play, and also as a safety check.

As a long time lurker on the Independent New Vegas thread I'm happy to see this file added onto the Nexus. Unfortunately I'm reinstalling New Vegas tonight after a long break and it will take me a while to get to the final battle before I can test it out.

Will this mod require CAGE to be installed in order for this file to work or does it already use some assets from it?

You know I don't remember. But all cage does is essentially alter a few lines in the Vending quest script. I can do the same. Although I think I'll do it another way. I may have the player drop an xmarker before being yanked to the slideshow room, then when the slideshow is over move him/her back to that xmarker. I think it's probably the least disruptive way (gives you the most continuity). I'll take a look at it when I'm trimming dialog tonight.
