Version 2.0 of CAP Currencies integrates Solar Tails Water bottling mod with his permission, and is a compilation of the Silverstandard mod from Fallout 3 by Sparky 84. You will be able to Trade in marginal Silver CAP Dimes as well as different Bottlecap types one of which can be used to bottle Water for trading, or use. When consumed you keep the bottle, but recieve a broken cap instead of a new one.

Leveled lists for vendors from Goodsprings, Primm, 188 trading post, and most of the vendors in the New Vegas area have a new list system that spawns CAPs, and Bottlecaps alike with a great amount of randomness in the variety, and quantity.

Also have spent about 10 hours photographing real life objects then editing, and converting a few pictures to .dds to work in game. You can see some of these props in the images section. All of which have in game versions.

I also may have changed around some health aspects to Water, and Drinks. If I have time I will amend this issue. Bottle weight has also been reduced to realistic weights which I had used a scale to properly determine.

In the future I want to look into adding Casino Chits as a tradeable currency, and make water a bit more balanced in that presently all water turns into one bottle, and same weight regardless of size...

To change water amounts in the future it will require a bit more tweaking, and script kittying, but should make things interesting...Instead of converting all bottles to one model which this version currently does it would use individual water perks to determine which appropriate bottle, and size to use, and then produce a bottle of sufficient weight, and value based on the base value per liter of water, and the weight of the bottles themselves. All of which will be done useing Glass bottle, and later jugs of comparable measures.

Also I need to Figure out what gives certain currency a fixed value, and then make Bottlecaps have fixed rates so they aren't traded on the Barter skill. It works, but I personally want regular caps to be worth about 0.8 fixed, and broken caps be worth up to 1 based on Barter skill. If anybody has an idea how to do this please let me know.

Now without further ado...
THE HISTORY OF THE COMMITTEE FOR AMERICAN PROGRESS
The history of CAP Dimes has its roots in the Global Collapse of 2019 after years of turmoil a Precious metals economy was reinstated in lieu of Fiat Currencies.
This new system could not simply write itself a blank check, or at least that is what they believed...
In the Winter of 2066 when China invaded Alaska so too were gone the days of prosperity...
It was not long until people were being forced to stand in line at Grocery stores with their ration Vouchers permitting them how much, and of what they could buy with their money.
In addition to violations of people's Civil rights, and mass Confiscations of privately owned Wealth both Day, and Night the Air waves were filled with propaganda that espoused Wealth, and Luxury, but too few had a semblance of such a lifestyle.
It was during this time that the powers that be produced the very first wartime currency of the 21st Century know as CAPs which was solely owned, and operated outside of Government regulation under a corporate entity known as the Committee for American Progress.
C.A.Ps were by in large a pitiful sum of value in Contrast to its Pre-War equivalient. In 2071 just five years before the US Army started executing Canadian Protesters in newly annexed Canada the Committe for American Progress produced the CAP Dime.
This pitiful medium of exchange though it still held a fractional reserve value of 5% Silver was insurmountably inferior to the Pre-2066 Dimes that physically held 18 times the buying power of this latest incarnation... The remaining ratio consisted primarily of 5% Aluminum, and 90% Steel. People spent nearly every dime they could muster just to scrape by from month to month. Every day grew increasingly more surreal as the day to day hardships of the Common Man increased... The Radio, and Television espoused that all was well, and that Victory was assured. Images of happy familys living in the lap of proverbial luxury were seared into the public consciousness yet everyone knew this for the lie it was....
Massive protests had broken out Nation Wide yet the voices on the air remained silent to the voices of the outraged public. Nothing, but Smiles, and Pancakes for all of America to see...
By June the President signed an executive order into effect stating that Anyone caught trading in Pre-War currency would be summarilly executed without Trial as Communist sympathisers. However a black market had thrived under this new system well until the bombs fell much like the Prohibition era of the 20th Century you could always find a few bits of real money if you looked hard enough stashed away in the gearbox of a cash register, or two.
Before the Great War for $5 in Silver you could walk into any store in America, and walk out with a shopping cart full of Sugar Bombs, and Nuka Cola Quantum...Yes...that stuff that makes your pee glow...Those were good times...not so much the Glowing pee though, but it made Camping trips interesting.
It was around 2072 that Protesting over the CAP system began in earnest however the protests ended about as well as you can imagine. They did have a slogan....Wouldn't exactly say it was very catchy... Went something like "BottleCAPs go home..." like I said nuthin fancy, but it got the point across. Wasn't long after people started calling em Bottlecaps from San Fran to D.C.
Some tight ass Senator who was a member of the C.A.P wanted to have people arrested for just using the world Bottlecap, but when you live in a Country where Whiskey, and Nuka Cola were being sold at an all time high to numb the harsh miseries outside our door it was a locke that nothing ever came of it. Although things did always manage to find a way to get worse...
In the remaining years that followed a great many people begrudgingly accepted hardship, and misery for fear of being named by the Committee for American Progress...It was unlike anything since before the last Great depression. People suffered quietly in a perverse dignity that makes today look like paradise.
It wasn't long before the Bombs fell that Paper Money began to be printed round the clock to cover the cost of the war, and other Civil projects. To the enlightened it was obvious there was no going back. It wasn't until a gallon of Gas reached $7500 that I really started to take notice, but by then it was too late.
By the years end in just two hours the majority of the Earth had been burried under a cloud of Radioactive Ash. The snow that winter glowed green, and so much I've tried to forget, and much I long to remember....
Yet some two centuries past you won't find many of those stacks of paper anymore... Only thing thats seemed to weather the testament of time out here in the wastes is good old Fashioned Hard cash.
(Insert Corny one liner)
"Like they always said....Greed....Greed Never Changes"

Anyways....Cheeky One liners aside if you read this far your a Gentleman, and a Scholar, or a Lady of Apocalyptic Refinement.
Cheers!

If this story interests you then you might find this youtube video rather interesting. I was surprised to find just how dead on this story is in contrast to history....it also gives you a sense of what is happening to both the Legion, and the NCR economically in a sense, and also what is happening today around the world.

This particular video is episode 2 of his series I believe.
