Nice concept, still, the Aperture Science skins are kinda lore-breaking. Maybe you can make it so they don't appear unless you have Wild Wasteland? (Or better yet, change them into something else, like how the Alien Blaster and aliens replace the unique gauss rifle and mercenaries in Vanilla.)
I've made it so in the custom note it explains it's from a TV series, so it somewhat fits into a made up lore. Depends how you roleplay really on whether or not it's lore unfriendly.
Terminal is locked so it's a mid-game sort of thing, and the first schematic is set as owned as it's placed in the gift shop. You can't just steal other people's property.
If you want it so it's not owned just click on it in console and type "setownership"
I'm not going to do a patch release of just this one little thing. I've been having computer problems recently so I haven't been able to notice every little fluke with this mod but when I last checked everything was working A-ok.
If you want, however you can make the amendment yourself in GECK by going to the location of the schematic and double clicking and setting the ownership. But it was my intention to make it so you had to steal it. Not everything is free you know.
for some reason a large majority of the pips are a purple texture, i had this a while ago and it was fine, but now i dont know whats wrong. any thoughts?
I have the exact same issue, so far I've found the red and blue checkered versions, the worn aperture and the digital camo one, the digital camo and aperture one both have the purple blob issue.
Edit: Turns out the issue was having my controller plugged in, whenever I launched the game without it, everything's fine, launching with the controller in causes the purple blobs, I have no idea why.
Unfortunately it doesn't, as this mod affects the 3000 pip-boy and assumes the player is using that one
I MAY make a readius version if there's enough reskins for it, but I wouldn't hold your hopes high for that as I don't use the readius model myself so I have no idea how that mods works if it works any differently than the default pip-boy
Pretty nifty mod, and the switching seems to work just fine.
But where's the schematic hints? There isn't even so much as a bunch of preview screenshots showing what they look like when equipped. So we have no clues where to look. I get, and prefer, the idea of it being a scavenger hunt, but we don't even have a place to start so far...well...unless we have the RAR archive open on a second monitor while playing.
I'm off to see if I can track down the Aperture skin. That's the one I used in FO3 and I have a rough idea where to find it. I think. Maybe. It's science related and I can only think of 3 or 4 map markers that fit a sciency theme.
You want previews, I'll update the images to show all the different themes as well as list them in the description
I'll just take a whip in GECK and the clue for the Aperture Pip-Boy is: It's NOT at a testing site, but it is in an office.
EDIT: Included a hints sheet in the latest download which includes the update as well, just merge and overwrite (the first version was missing some of the archive due to read errors, this should be rectified now)
This SHOULD be fully functional now, I just playtested it and riddled out a couple of bugs such as losing karma when accessing the terminal and one of the Pips not being named correctly so it wouldn't switch to it.
Also there is a picture preview of all but one of the Pip-Boys added to the images
Check out the video if you want to see exactly how this mod works
EDIT: This mod should be fully functional by the way, I've double checked everything over in GECK, I just haven't had the opportunity to test in game as my New vegas is a bit wonky with the amount of mods I have on it at the moment. So any game testers would be really helpful.
