So i downloaded this mod in lue of a couple other halo theme mods and i noticed that one of the guns in this pack has absolutely no textures forcing the red diamond to show, i dont know if it was removed from the loot pool since i acess it from this mod Shooting Range For Weapon Testing at Fallout New Vegas - mods and community (nexusmods.com) which is a modders resource for calibrating guns in game as well as a functional shooting range since the live targets can be easily respawn there are cabnets in the room that grants you access to all guns meds armor esc modded into the game [reasonable stuff ofcourse house keys [yes] the house itself [no]]. just wondering if the gun is disabled pending an update on your end or not.
The M7 SMG shoots a 5mm projectile, the .197 caliber/5x23mm caseless ammunition.
5mm (in-game) has excellent armor penetration, yet considerably low damage - which is a true statement for the Halo SMG. The small diameter combined with the large amount of solid propellant behind it (which you tend not to get in cased ammo, as you need a bit of empty space/air to help ignite powder for a faster burn) allows it to pick up a ton of speed before leaving the barrel.
The advantage is also its' downside. The low profile and weight means it goes through armor, bone or skin like tissue, but the permanent/temporary cavity and velocity trauma caused by it entering flesh is very minimal. The projectile will probably lose a ton of speed after it penetrates armor or bone, but will over-penetrate on soft targets (unless it hits bone).
Also because of the FN P-90 style magazine (albeit sidemounted) and almost identical ammo (disregarding cased/caseless), the capacity is enormous, 60 rounds in an extremely small package.
And due to the size and caseless nature of the ammunition, it does not need to wait an erroneous amount of time between shots, which gives it the advantage of a 15RPS/2250RPM refire rate (Empty mag in 4 seconds sustained automatic fire).
More likely than not, it's the sheer refire rate and magazine size, not the power of the projectile itself, which kills the target. .197 is laughably small. It's smaller (diameter) than a .22lr, yet the blinding refire rate riddles the body and damages internal organs and/or causes immense bleeding, despite how laughably slow a single shot would bleed.
