I'm comparing this against YUP's container sound fixes. I commented over there about an issue I found:
"sandbox6 has a mod, Container Sound Fixes -- http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54260/? -- that has some changes that disagree with YUP. I'm resolving them for my own personal use patch, and I noticed something strange.
001677D2, VLootAmmoBoxNVT1: The base game has no sounds. Container Sounds Fixes adds an open and a close sound, but YUP adds a closing sound, and sound that FNVEdit identifies as type "RNAM - Sound - Random/Looping." I know from the refrigerators that this is used for a constant looping sound, but the sound being used here isn't the kind of sound you would loop, just the ammo box closing sound. I can't tell from the change log when this was done in YUP, and I've never come across a container in game that was looping the ammo box close sound, so... what's going on here with YUP? Does that field do something different than what I think? Which mod is correct?
Would it be wise for the team to re-check what YUP is doing with missing sounds fixes on containers?

I haven't seen that random/looping sound field used for any other containers that YUP and CSF both fix. Does this point to YUP being in error for those two records?"
However, I've also got some questions about this mod. 0200AB85, 86, and 87 (NVDLC02LootAmmoBoxLOW, MED, and HIGH), this mod actually removes their open/close sounds versus vanilla, and aren't touched by YUP. Was this accidental, or a personal taste decision? Was it that the sounds don't fit, or that there was some kind of bug using them there?
Oops, other similar records where a sound is removed and I question it: 0200D9E, 03014ABF.
