I would love to test it, however, after I installed it the textures do not show up. Not sure what the problem is-perhaps the folder structure. The weapon is there but not visible as a rifle (more like a tree limb). I tried putting your meshes and weapons into subfolders within weapons as most of my other weapon mods are but no luck.
It is not archive invalidation. It is the folder structure I suspect. It is the only weapon mod I have seen which does not have its own folders within the meshes and texture folders. You end up with stray nifs and dds folders in the main mesh and textures folder. If you plan to structure your next version the same way, there will be the same problem.
I would be interested to hear if anyone who has downloaded this has gotten it to show up properly in game. It seems like you would want to fix this upload to supply the missing meshes.
Missing meshes remain. I wish I had enough knowledge to make suggestions other than to suggest you download pluckthebanjo's mod or one of Melinnia's to see how they structured their folders. Until those meshes are properly implemented in your upload, this promising mod will be a non-starter.
Your new upload has only a mesh subfolder and that has one less mesh nif than an earlier upload. Your new upload has no texture files whatever. The weapon still looks like a long brown axe. How about a single upload which includes everything an installer will need to get the mod to work like it does in your game? I am certainly interested in getting the mod to work in its current state using the 308 ammo.
The textures in the earlier updates were not neccessary as the weapon uses your current marksman rifle textures and there was one extra unneeded mesh. Have you tried changing the mesh in the Geck manually?
No I have not tried that. I will do so. I generally have no problem with weapon mods and have several. No one else seems to have the problems I am having or, if so, they are not saying. Anyway, thanks for your efforts. I will at least check the mod in Geck and see if it is pointing to the proper mesh.
I checked the mod in Geck and it was pointing to "MR-308 rifle.nif". Of course that is the right mesh, but that mesh is now located in the Weapons/2hand automatic subfolder(a change you made at my suggestion, I fear). I edited the file to point to the location in that folder and the weapon appeared as it is supposed to. I then moved the mesh outside of that folder and just put it loosely in the meshes folder and the weapon also appeared. I still think it is a good idea to have a weapon in a subfolder under weapon meshes, as you have now done, but the esp needs to point to that folder.
I found out how to fix this, a secret person told me how to fix it as they were experiencing the same problem I'll have an update as soon as I have time.
This is actually really nice. It's a fun variant of the marksman carbine. I used this gun all the time before i used mods and now i can use it again. I'm hoping it's compatible with the weapon retexture project?
finally a decent marksman riflewith iron sights, ide prefer it to still be 5.56 but i can change that myself with the geck. the only thing i would suggest if you know how, or would be interested in looking into would be a scope/acog type mod, and a silencer. The marksman rifle is probably one of my most favorite weapons in the game. and was sad that a modular version of one isnt out there anywhere. great work, keep it up ill be tracking this for future updates ad will endorse when it lets me.
