i dont know if the creater is still paying attention to this, but if you are, you're a LIFESAVER!!!! i killed dean domino, and got the bug "dean has died" message over and over, and your mod cleared that right up,when not even console commands like closeallmenus worked!!! thanks a million!
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to fully work anymore, I mean it is nearly 10 years old so maybe it's to be expected.
The remove sound .esp is working which is awesome, I have no sound for any of the pop-ups but I'm still getting the pop-up messages in the top left corner spamming constantly :(
This mod doesn't fix the 10 consecutive messages that pop up when I cripple enemy limbs with explosives. If I use any sort of explosive and kill a few npcs at once I still have to see pop ups for a minute for each limb that I cripple when I kill someone....
No, unfortunately it does not, it only silences the noise crippling enemies' limbs makes. This is one thing I have tried and failed to disable before. It's one of the more "hidden" settings and might be hard-coded, at least I haven't found a way to get rid of it.
The better solution is to find out how to disable the hud message box. In fallout 4 this was easy to achieve with custom hud mods where I can move and hide hud elements.
Unfortunatly this is another reason why I won't be playing this game anymore. I can't stand having to watch 20 messages back to back when I craft ammo, eat, drink or sleep, cripple limbs, whatever. Stupid game design that Bethseda actually fixed.
For some reason when I load the current story mode I am in I am getting a over encumbered message every time I load in. This mod hasn't fixed that problem... How can I disable the top left message box completely so I no longer get this stupid message and any other annoying messages.
Sorry, I can't really help with that, I think. Some messages are either well hidden and hard to find, others are even hard-coded so you can't get rid of them at all.
Not sure which the "encumbered" message is, to be honest. It's been a while since I've played NV or looked at any files for it; best I can do is suggest you search the G.E.C.K. for this particular message and see what you can do. There is a screenshot of where to find "Messages" but I can't promise you'll find what you're looking for there.

Ah. Apologies; only thing I disabled in the Pip-boy was the mouseover blip on the map. Close enough? No, I suppose not.
I don't have New Vegas installed atm and am not sure if/when I'll get to that again, but if you'd like to try and fix it yourself: First, you'll have to find the name of the sound file in question. Second, I ... forgot what to do. BUT, if you know your way around the GECK a little, you can look what I did with the sounds that are included in this file and do the same to the Pip-boy noise. (There are sliders, I remember that much, at least.)
Sorry if that isn't much help. I may be due for a brain RAM upgrade.
No you've been a huge help - If I can find the time, one day ill dive into GECK. I'm scared once I start I won't stop though lol. I still use your mod either way.. Good job

"Hello, I am Fallout: New Vegas! I see you are crippled! Let me remind you of it... again. And again. AND AGAIN. An NPC that may or may not be relevant to you has just died on the other side of the map. Let me throw a pop-up in your face. Oh, you completed a challenge! Let me make a loud noise to inform you of it!"
The corner messages, you mean? Most certainly. I remember Project Nevada having a feature like that (visual/audio clues instead of text, iirc) though I'd have to look into it to figure out how. Probably similar to how one would get rid of karma messages.
Edit: I checked, those are indeed Game Settings like karma increase/decrease. Namely "sHungerDecrease", "sHungerIncrease" and the like. I presume they can be edited as easily as karma messages; otoh there's a possibility they're as annoyingly hard to get rid of as crafting messages.
I started a new playthrough with immersion mods and without HUD and these messages breaks immersion so bad. If you can disable these too I will be so happy
