Just the way the model is rendered, I suppose. Its the same model used in the Hoover Dam battle, which I'm assuming has less polys to allow for more npcs to be loaded without hurting frames.
I didn't make the model myself, I am not an artist by any means. Just a quick fix for a request from the forums almost a couple years ago.
