I like this mod, and have been using the light armor version, but I discovered something a bit strange: this mod overpowers mods that change the appearance of Merc armor. If both are loaded, the armor will not look different but will have the stat changes you made. I even tried merging this mod with an appearance altering mod (Merc Charmers pack specifically), but to no avail. Is there a reason this mod would prevent appearance changes?
I always liked the merc outfits from FO3, glad you gave them some actual use again (besides they look cool). I went with the light version.
this "simple" file of yours is to me leagues beyond most armor mods. See, while all the "cool" kids are busy making god items, or working hours and hours a day to make textures for naked video game girls (internet anybody?) you dared to be bold.
You..and YOU ALONE stood up and said "screw that noise..i gotta plan, those merc armors? they are cool..I think I can make those have protective characteristics" and then by George you achieved what you set out to do!!!
Unfortunately true genius is seldom appreciated in its time, more so people tend to assume that something that is bigger or more complicated is better, especially if it has tons of bugs, conflicts and horrible textures. You will likely not receive the credit you deserve. Rest easy in the knowledge that somewhere out in the inter-spheres there is a guy who downloaded this mod, and thinks its the bee's knees.
It doesnt seem to work for me, I have the armor and when i put it on and exit the pipboy, i hear 2 clothes putting on sound effects and then when i reopen the pipboy it defaults to the vanilla armor values.
Truly a great mod, and I wish I could endorse it, but I don't know how, and when I try, I get a blank white pop up that simply has an "Okay" button, *shrug*. Anyways, might I suggest posting the actual changes you made to their DR and DT on the description page? From what it looks like, at least for the light version, it's 10 DR and 7 DT fully repaired. For a hardcore player who hates cheating, this seems a bit op to me, mainly the 10% DR, but I rationalized that since I loved the appearance of Merc Veteran's armor so much on females, it will allow it to last so much longer into the later levels of the game, especially since I play light armor only, with Light touch, and Travel lightly.
But yes, two giant thumbs up, and if I ever figure out how to endorse this, I will, because it deserves attention. These armors were some of the best Bethesda ever made, so creative, and yet were so underwhelming, especially compared to random CLOTHING that had more DT. This mod made my day.
What do you mean set in a specific location it is a re-placer not a stand alone add on it is just part of the game it is in the leveled list and the stores as it was before
