Out of curiosity, is it possible to force perspective for the death cam? It'd be awesome if you could somehow force the death cam to first person, leaving the desaturation and blur, and then a slow fade to black.
Actually it's possible and I tried to make it and it indeed makes you look through player's eyes when you die, but the problem is that your weapon you had at the time of death stays equipped, so it looks silly. Now, if someone would make a script to automatically remove equipped weapon after death, that would be awesome!
The problem with first person death is that it will be jumpy and stuttery and I believe it's because of ragdoll physic. Also, if you die with face down, you'll end up clipping through the level and I don't know how it would look if enemy blows your head off.
Or what should have happened when Boone and his beloved Mossberg apparently set off a nukular carbeque right next to me at Boulder Beach campground: a really bright screen flash followed by darkness and silence.
Well, I'm tracking this. I don't think I'm gonna use this, unless you decide to try out the first person perspective stuff. I'll ask a friend about an unequip weapon script too and report back later.
Working on such a script ATM. As for blowing off the head - it will likely just keep the perspective as if you could just see through your eyes like they were intact. That, or it will crash the game. Whichever one it is, it will unfixable without heavy scripting.
I do not, but aren't there certain times when this is done ingame already? Not the death in first person, but where you weapon is unequipped. Maybe on death your currently equipped weapon breaks, I'm pretty sure when a weapon breaks it is put away.
I've got a script in progress, it has a few chinks in it but hopefully it will be worked out and efficient by tomorrow. TheUnkownCenter- those scripts do not process well on dead actors, the player included. It would often cause a game crash.
actually, there are a couple. some are even in the vanilla game. ill have to look at what triggers it. (saw the vanilla crashing) um would it be possible to use the script from the think tank? like... make it so when you die, you lay down your arms and be peaceful.... sleep now... otherwise there are a few mods that ive gotten that have successfully done this
can you also add a version that doesn't change the death time? because I have another mod that makes the death time auto load to infinite. or you could make it 100000000 seconds yourself either way it would be greatly appreciated!
Is this the first time this has been done? If so, I'm surprised. In FO the slow mo death is cool in the beginning but it really gets old and annoying later on.
